Outdoors, hiking, moose, beaver, caribou, and wonderful accommodations and food in the middle of nowhere Gaspesie. Gin & Tonic with sugar basil on the rim for me and Pit Caribou Red for him, free WiFi for the kids and a heated pool for all. Booking next trip soon, after full recovery from day long climb up on Mt. Albert.

Was a long-time dream to spend some more time in this area and stay here, rather than rush through to other popular locations in the Gaspesie region (which are well worth it regardless). Finally took the time to stay here back in the fall 2017, and it was as great as I hoped it would be. Great service (although a slight language barrier with one hostess at check-in) and great food in the on-location restaurant and bar, the latter serving an abbreviated menu with less stuffy service- fine with me! Nearby hiking trails abound, with park HQ right next door to the property. Spend at least two nights to really soak in the atmosphere of this wonderful place. Rooms are spacious with a nice bathroom, and outbuildings are quiet and highly recommended as well.

We have stayed at the Gîte 5 or 6 times mostly in February and take the Chic Choc package. 5 nights with breakfast and dinner included. It is magical place, very comfortable and perfect for snow shoeing or cross-country skiing. The staff for the most part are friendly and helpful and many have been there many years. We have, over the years enjoyed the gourmet dinning, which has been one of the highlights. However, this year was a bit disappointing, as they seem to have cut back, only offering a 3 course meal with an extra charge if you want the 4 course. In addition, there use to be specials every night as well as the set menu which consisted of about 6 choices. There was a main course special on the first night and that was it. I seem to remember there used to be a chef’s special for each course every night. We still enjoyed relaxing in the lounge/bar in front of the fire enjoying a pre-dinner drink or having a delicious bowl of soup there at lunch time. Normally a bustling venue, the clientele seemed to have decreased dramatically. There were only 3-5 tables occupied each evening whereas on previous visits most of the tables would be occupied with multiple sittings! The food was for the most part very good although we did have to send the Red Snapper back! Breakfast was adequate and plentiful although the wafer thin bacon was very disappointing for a place of that caliber.

We did not have a room in this gite but we had lunch here. The restaurant is cosy, the service (thank you Julien) is perfect (professional, fast and friendly). The menu offers a great variety to choose from. We choose a salad with Turkey : well-presented, really delicious, enough to eat and ... rather cheap (15 $)

This is a must do experience if you are visiting the park de la Gaspesie. Beautiful rooms, spectacular food at the lodge restaurant, and we were walking distance from a variety of trials. Every room has a view of Mt. Albert. Totally worthwhile.
