Was really pleasantly surprised with these cottages. We booked them on a whim, when the weather was poor for camping. Given the low price ($92 with tax for two beds; cabin #10), even in high tourist season, we didn't really know what to expect. Was very pleasantly met by the owner, and was happy to see little extras like free bug spray, coffee available ($1.50), and even homemade jam for sale. The cabins themselves are clean and rustic (they're classic cabins, with wood walls and painted wood floors), but filled with bonus ammenities! Having spent nights in many cabins like these, I didn't expect very much. Was pleasantly surprised to see not only bed linens and towels provided, but a full bathroom with a shower, with mini hotel body wash bottles, and even a mini fridge! I've stayed at more expensive cabins along the Cabot Trail that didn't even have plumbing or electricity.
The setting is also great. Theres a nice view of a small stream and downtown Parrsboro is only a km away. There's also a communal fire with free wood (although no personal fire pits).
The big highlight were the owners (they took over a couple of years ago). They were pleasant interact with and extremely accommodating. I forgot a few things at home and they were able to lend things at no cost, which helped make the stay perfect.
The weather cleared up the next day, but my 13 nephew who was travelling with us, who was previously very excited about tenting, suddenly didn't want to leave his nice cushy bed and "cozy" cabin (his words), so we stayed a second night.
Would strongly recommend! :)
