We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. Breakfast varied, high quality and plentiful; room immaculate and comfortable and excellent views; lovely staff and service; dinner in the restaurant was lovely; enjoyed the entertainment each evening. An excellent base to explore the Cabot trail

We decided to treat ourselves while we were on the Cabot Trail and booked a night at the Keltic Lodge. when I spoke to hotel personnel they told me there were rooms left in the lodge and In Corson (sp?) house. Since I had no familiarity with the property I asked her to book me where she thought the best location would be. We had a room in the Corson house that Overlooked the bay with two Adirondack chairs on our own private patio outside. The room itself was large and fully accommodated with heated floors in the bathroom. because of the Privacy we left the curtains open and in the morning when we woke the sun was Rising across the bay from our bed. the property has a restaurant on site across from the Corson house and we had dinner there. It was very convenient to just walk across the parking lot to a lovely place for dinner. After dinner there was music provided in the lounge but we had had a full day on the Cabot Trail and decided to go to go forego the party. Although we thought the entrees were unremarkable, the appetizers and the desserts were outstanding. We ordered the black cherry whiskey cheesecake and there is no doubt it is the best cheesecake we ever tasted. The breakfast that came with our room was amazing. Breakfast is served in the main Lodge and it is a full Buffet. We had eggs benedict and fresh fruit. we felt like we found a gem in the middle of wilderness and will clearly return again at our earliest opportunity

We drove in for the view the resort is on the tip of a peninsula at the end of a state park w great 270 degree views A bit windy even for the summer Great location for pics and nice grounds The road signs are a bit small and you can easily miss it

This was meant to be an upmarket treat on our Cape Breton tour, a couple of nights in top quality accommodation in a superb setting. Well it is a superb setting. We found ourselves in a shared shack (sorry, "cottage"), with rotten windows, broken shutters and a hot air blower as loud as a helicopter. Could not sleep with that noise so turned it off, but woke in the night so cold had put on fleece, hiking socks and hat, as there were no spare blankets in the room. Lay listening to the wind whistling through the rattling windows till dawn when we turned the helicopter back on and thawed out the room. Of course we complained and the staff did their best to placate us. The fee for the room was reduced to "only" $175, without breakfast and we were offered a change of room. The new room was fabulous! Clean, comfortable, warm and rattle free despite the storm outside. I don't understand why the Keltic Lodge management risk the reputation of the resort by still offering such sub standard rooms at ridiculously expensive rates. I have rated it for the $175 room.

Stayed two nights in October before they closed. Ended up being CA Thanksgiving, which we didn’t know. And the hotel was fully booked. We stayed in the Main Lodge.

The good:
The location of the hotel in the park is fantastic.
Nightly music
Majestic old hotel
Morning breakfast included in our rate

The not so good:
The heat is controlled lodge wide, and it was on and very hot. Had the windows open, and still got very little sleep.
The tub did not drain.
The breakfast staff was undertrained and understaffed. The second morning I heard them telling guests 5 times that there were only 3 people working. They couldn’t keep up.
The cost for what you get.
The room was tiny, and our one window looked out to a bundle of black wires.
Not sound proofed at all, heard the hall conversations and the movement above us.
Front desk staff seemed very undertrained. Had to ask for extra towels 3 times before we got them.

Enjoyed our time, but don’t think the value is there for a return visit. Enjoy the Park!
