It is our third time choosing to spend our summer vacation in this comfortable and spacious villa with breathtaking views of the bay! It is conveniently located between Balchik and Albena and about 35 min from the beautiful city of Varna often referred to as the Sea Capital of Bulgaria.
We spent two weeks at the villa with our extended family and enjoyed the views, the comfort of the villa, our walks and short trips and the taste of the fresh fruits and vegetables sold at the curb on our way to ShablaTuzla/Kaliakra/Rousalka, which are other beautiful places to visit driving north. We also visited great restaurants in Balchik, Albena and Varna. I will greatly recommend the villa and we are planning to come back!
This holiday home was the perfect place for my large family to stay with outstanding views of the beach. We all enjoyed the pool, and the 20 minute walk through greenery and across the beach to some lovely restaurants and pubs to have a meal and a drink. There's a couple of shops down the road and a large Lidls 10-15 minutes away there was never a dull day for me and my family we will definitely come again next year!
We stayed four days at Clive and Linda Vila with our family. It is located ten minutes from the beach and very close to Balchic - a town with all the necessary facilities.
The landscape from each of the rooms is amazing, the space is very big and we all enjoyed the swimming pool in the yard.
The only problem we had was when the water company made works and stopped the water for one day. We know that it was not under the owner control and we get from them the assistance they could give but this day was not very pleasant.
As it is a very seldom situation, I would warmly recommend Vivienta vila
Great villa. We are a group of two families with 5 adults and 5 children. The villa has plenty enough space for our group. All bedrooms were very nice and spacious with fantastic views from all but one room over the lovely bay of Albena. The layout was great with balconies and different areas to suit us all. The villa was well equipped and best thing for the kids was the wifi was fast and worked well! The pool / hot tub was only small but was fine for a quick cool off. The games room was a bonus with a full size table tennis table and bar football. The location of the villa is up a very steep hill . The local town of fish fish down the hill had a couple of small supermarkets but no restaurants or bars. We would walk down to Albena for the beach or to eat ( 20mins down hill and taxi back 20 lev fixed price ) Albena had a great beach but did lack bars and restaurants due to the big hotels being all inclusive which kills off the local trade. But for us we went by taxi to a gem of a town most nights "Balchik". ( 10 mins away )This town had a great promenade with restaurants and bars along the promenade stilted over the waters edge. Lots of choice with great fresh sea food and of course pizza for the kids. We had a deal from the villa for a mini bus 20 lev each way. Balchik also had a large Lidl supermarket which is where we did most of the shopping. I would recommend if staying at the villa to hire a car of make use the local taxis. The adults did a trip to the local winery which was a very nice couple of hours sampling the local wines. We did a trip to the water park in Albena which I would recommend for the kids. Overall we had a great time and the villa was an excellent choice for our group. I would highly recommend the villa and the area.
We have recently returned from our family holiday to Albena, Bulgaria. My partner and I took our 3-year-old daughter away for 10 days to stay at the fabulous Villa Vivienta. We read the good reviews about this villa on Trip Advisor prior to booking and are pleased to say that our holiday thoroughly lived up to expectations.
The Villa was massive, we had so much space for just the three of us! The villa was very clean and extremely well equipped. It was home from home as literally everything we could possibly need was catered for, the owners really have thought of everything! Upon arrival we had an unexpected welcome pack left for us by the owners which included bread, milk and a bottle of wine which we felt was a lovely touch.
The pool and Jacuzzi were an added bonus and a huge hit with our daughter and a welcome relief from the heat! Our daughter also enjoyed playing on the swings in the garden in the evening and ‘attempting’ to play table tennis and table top football in the games room!
What made this villa extra special for us; was the impressive views of the bay. We enjoyed magnificent stunning sea views from every room in the house and enjoyed many evenings sitting on the veranda by the pool looking out at the stars, it was just beautiful.
In terms of things to do as a family, there was so much that we could have done with staying for longer. The wonderful family friendly golden sand beach of Albena was about a 20 min downhill walk with our little girl, but without a toddler I’m sure this would be quicker! We found it easier to drive down to the beach as parking is free and it meant we could load up the car with all of our beach stuff! There’s loads to do with the kids in Albena with parks, children’s rides, shops and restaurants. (Top tip - throughout our stay, it was particularly hot for that time of year, it made us laugh how the locals park their car's literally in the bushes and tucked between the trees in a bid to keep their cars cool throughout the day; so rather than search for an appropriate car parking space, we would search for an available bush)!... I attached a few photos to show what I mean!...
We also visited Golden Sands beach which was also boasted stunning golden sands but I would say the resort is suited more for the youngsters with lots of big hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and a huge array of stalls at the far end which is well worth having a mooch around.
The City of Varna is well worth a visit and if you have little ones there are two fabulous water parks not too far from the villa. We spent a day at the Aquamania Aqua Park in Albena and cannot recommend it enough! It’s best to get there fairly early as it does get busy but there are water slides suitable for all ages there and a fantastic Lazy River with waves! The park was so clean and well thought out, one of the best we've been to. If we’d been staying longer we would have definitely gone back there!
We went to Balchik several times, it’s a lovely quaint town just 5 min drive away where you can enjoy a relaxed laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed some lovely seafood lunches overlooking the marina and revisited one evening enjoying a fantastic (albeit a little pricier) meal in one of the restaurants built on stilts over the sea. I wish I could remember the name, it was double fronted, with huge wrought iron candle chandeliers opposite a hotel with rattan furniture if that helps!...
The owners recommended several restaurants including the Mexican in Albena, Fiesta Bulgaria (close to the villa), Korona, Sylvias and Veronis in and around Balchik.
We had fantastic nights at each of these, but the food in a restaurant in Kranevo was amazing the best freshly barbecued leg of lamb dish I've ever tasted, it was so tender. The Mexican restaurant in Albena strip was fantastic, the manager was extremely helpful, the food delicious and they had a mariachi band which serenaded our tables during our meal!
Veroni’s BBQ restaurant was based in a pretty outside garden surrounding a small dance floor area where we were entertained with a professional singer and traditional dancing. This was excellent value for money, we had another very enjoyable evening here.
We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Villa Vivienta to anybody considering a stay in Albena, Bulgaria. We had a fantastic time and didn't want to come home! We cannot wait to book up again in the very near future.
