We stayed for 6 weeks. Met some great neighbors. Food was awesome. Sites are small but OK. Charlie was very nice (owner). We were here over the 4th of July--AMAZING! Met a great new friend Sue! Cool Buffalo too.

We stayed here before so was not expecting luxury. All we needed was a pull thru with electric & water. The site was level, shady, & pleasant. I'm sad to say they had several bison fenced in their 'viewing area' and it was way too small for such large roaming animals. I hope they rotate the bison from the bigger herd that has a large pasture.
We were just passing thru and found it sufficient for our needs, which was to be able to stay hooked up.

This was disappointing considering the attraction and historic value. The "owner" as he hastily identified himself after I asked, rolled up on our RV site demanding the receipt and when asked why...said because we "weren't suppose to be here". (This was on the 2nd day of our 3 days paid.) It was a clerical mistake proven by the receipt. Then he didn't even have the decency to apologize. Inexcusable!

Do not camp here. This place is a trash pit literally. Trash all over the sites including 100's of cigarettes. The sites and road are dirt and crammed together one on top of another and back to back. They are charging $25 for Passport America which implies $50 as their full rate for marginal electric, water and sewer we hope works. I would leave immediately if I could find any other place to go on this week-end. Worst place we have stayed in 4 years of full time RVing. You can bet I will never return here.

Jim and his daughters are super nice and awesome to deal with. Jim stopped by every couple days to chat or see how we were doing. We move a lot for my husbands work in our 5th wheel, and coming across friendly camp hosts sure makes our life much easier. The owner, however, doesn't communicate on price changes and backdates rate changes weeks prior to the "note" posted in the lodge. Water being shut off wasn't always communicated to all campers. We have seen with the campgrounds we've stayed at this year, notes are always posted on each campers door with any changes or updates happening. This needs to take place at Frontier Fort. Yes, there are a ton of construction guys at this campground, but as paying customers, everyone needs to be in the loop with changes and felt taken advantage of. We may stay here next year, depends on work, and I hope the owner reads the reviews on here and implements a way to honestly communicate with his guests. Bathhouse was always warm, 3 showers and toilets in the ladies room. Two washers and dryers available. We stayed in a pull through spot that was easy to get in and out of. Buffalo museum and a live herd were our neighbors. Five minute drive to WalMart and also to their downtown area. They have 50 & 30 Amp sites all with water and sewer. Stop in and ask for Jim... his daughters will be the one's greeting you when you go into the lodge. They are very nice.
