I've toured the Latimer house before and really enjoyed it. When I saw ads for the All Hallows' Eve Wake they had scheduled for the Friday before Halloween I thought it looked really interesting and fun and thought I'd check it out. It was a $55 dollar ticket for a 3 hour reception. I was a bit disappointed with it considering the cost. The best parts were the tarot card reader and the mock amputation demonstration outside. Other than that there was no real history to it. Everyone was dressed up but no one was there to tell me about the set up. I would have loved to have heard more history. There were very light appetizers and a cash bar. You'd think at least one drink would have been included for that price though. I left after an hour. I felt like I had seen all there was to offer. It was kinda cool to see, I'm glad I checked it out, however, I wouldn't go again. I thought it was too expensive for what you got. If you're just looking to tour the house on an average day though, it's a great thing to check out downtown!!
