In short, looks like an older Hampton from outside. We stopped overnight on our way to Nags Head. I have stayed at many Hamptons and this is by far the worst I have stayed at in terms of quality and service level.

Room was cold at check in. Bathroom looked clean until my wife found pubic hair around the tiolet and trash in the bin. The bed seemed okay (sheets did not appear to be stained) but the capet was dirty however and corners of room had spider webs.

Breakfast was less than you expect from a Hampton, I have much better in this type hotel.

All in all, the stay was very poor when compared to what I have experienced at Hampton Inn's in other cities. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel to friends based on this visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with no pubic hair in the bathrooms.

We stayed one night here after an East Carolina football game. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. We had some noisy guests nearby, but that was not the Hampton's fault. Front desk check in was efficient. Breakfast was adequate but not as good as some Hampton Inns we've visited in other locations.

We would stay there again.

Our assigned room was on the third floor. Upon returning from dinner, we became aware that the room had a distinct vibration and noise associated with it. Additionally the exhaust fan in the bathroom had no on/off control and ran continuously. The noise and vibration was not tolerable and we complained. The management allowed that some third floor rooms were beneath the rooftop air handling equipment and reassigned us a room on the first floor.
Aside from having to drag our unpacked gear from room to room, the result was quite satisfactory.

Quiet, restful night with very good breakfast spread.

Room Tip: Be sure any third floor room is not beneath air handling equipment.

There were only a few small drawbacks to this hotel, and those were easily remedied. It appeared quite clean, and the heating/cooling system was easy to adjust. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the cookies were GREAT! The hallway carpet could have been clearner, and the desk in the room needed to be wiped down, but for the latter, my disinfectant wipes were quite sufficient. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel is convenient to the highway, which is located within a minute's drive. There are only a few places to stay in the general area, and this one is, as my title indicates, quite acceptable.
