“I'd give a six-star review if I could...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2010

I recently returned from my fourth stay at Iris Meadows. All of my stays there have been a sheer delight, and this stay was no different. If you enjoy staying at bed-and-breakfasts, you owe it to yourself to experience Iris Meadows. It's become the standard against which I judge all other B&Bs. The innkeepers are consummate professionals, who reguarly go above and beyond the call of duty to enrich their guests' experience. They have created a little bit of heaven in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. Not to be missed!

We have stayed in a lot of B & Bs; but no one can come close to the thoughtfulness and hospitality of Becky and George Fain. On top of that the Inn at Iris Meadows, as a facility, is a wonderful "home away from home." The comfortable and welcoming Inn is a luxury B & B and the bountiful, gourmet breakfast that Becky and George personally prepare for you completes the total experience that can't be equaled.

If you are looking for a gorgeous, romantic bed and breakfast this is the one for you. Love Lane leads you into this winding beautiful garden of flowers, trees, butterflies and birds. Housed in the center of a 5 acre estate is a southern mansion with wrap around porches with white wicker and swings. We were graciously greeted by our hosts, George and Becky Fain along with dog, Scratch. Our room overlooked the Smokey Mountains and the city of Waynesville, NC. The room was spacious with antiques, beautiful linens. large private bathroom, a very comfortable queen size bed and all the amenities of the 21st century. The beakfast was tastefuly done and displayed. George and Becky are conscious of healthy eating while serving fresh ingredients from their vegetable and herb garden. We enjoyed waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, quiche and muffins to name a few during our stay. Afternoon delights of homemade cookies were such a treat. Evening meals were delicious in downtown Waynesville, especially the local trout cooked to perfection. There were enough hills to walk to justify indulging in dessert! Ice cream at the Iris Meadows was the best! The calm, peaceful nights with the summer breeze were a treasure to us. We departed refreshed, rested, renewed and still deeply in love.

We had a wonderful 3 days. The breakfasts were above and beyond what we could eat, fresh homemade breads, fresh fruit and yogurt, savory eggs and ham cooked with homegrown herbs from the garden! Didn't eat again till dinner. We had a wonderful time visiting with the Inn Keepers and hearing about the area and all you can do, shopping, mountain trails, waterfalls and great restraunts to visit. If you plan to go be sure to stay for more than one night, there is so much to see and do in the mountains and on the property!

We were thrilled with all the special touches that made our anniversary stay so memorable! All the nice surprises were such a delight! The bountiful breakfasts were delicious. The rooms were elegant and the most beautiful we have ever seen. The private baths were splendidly decorated and unique. We're looking forward to returning. George and Becky make you feel so very special! - Mike and Jenny Terrell
