The best feature of Storm's End is its location/ proximity to the ocean. If that is all you are looking for in a vacation rental, then you will be satisfied. We have vacationed in the Outer Banks for twenty years and realize that rentals will have quirks, but this one had a few more than normal. The window unit air conditioners on the top level were a surprise, and quite noisy when sitting on the top deck. The dishwasher needs to be replaced. There is a new washer, but the dryer is jerry-rigged (lint trap is held together with twisty ties) and not working at peak performance. The pool is not large, and when you see the pools of the neighboring homes you might feel pool envy. The furniture in the top level ( kitchen/ dining/ family room) is worn out and uncomfortable. Another odd thing was that there were no tables of any kind on the decks and in the pool area, so don't plan on eating meals outside. The basement fun room has a huge TV and foozball, but is also lit with fluorescent overhead lights (similar to what we have in our garage) and there is not a bathroom- it is a weird space. Bottom line is that if you are looking for a well furnished/ appointed/ updated rental, I would not recommend.
