This place is so well preserved and has so many of the original furnishings from the original owner it like stepping back in time. It is hard to convey how authentic you feel when you step inside. I have visited houses all over the country and this one is truly exceptional.

The upkeep of a house of this size must take enormous resources and it is a true testament to the citizens of Salisbury that they have made the preservation of their historical heritage a priority. This is truly a must see of a virtually pristine pre-Civil War era mansion that still furnished as it was including dressing items, pistols and dishes.

A must visit at least once or twice each year. Always something missed. A real taste of the era prior to and including the Civil War.

This house has the unique characteristic of being passed down from female to female for over 100 years. Most of the furnishings and decor are the original belongings of the Hall family. The docents are all well-informed and friendly. Stop by and check it out. The house is open from March through December on Saturdays and Sundays.

This is a great museum and period house to see in Salisbury. You get a great sense of Dr. Hall's life and the house he built as a physician in Salisbury during the Civil War.

I happened to be visiting friends in Salisbury a few weeks ago and went to a bluegrass concert on the Hall House lawn. We sat on the lawn and listened to music which was played on the second floor porch of the Hall House. What a magical evening with the Hall House itself as the backdrop. We had a chance to peek inside the house. It is quite interesting and well worth a visit.
