A pleasant surprise with very upmarket decor. Wide range of craft beers to select (even have own craft beer menu). Good range of food in bistro at reasonable prices. Try the fresh whiting - panko crumb coated and lightly fried - very tasty indeed.

We frequently holiday on Yorke Peninsular and I am a sucker for their King George Whiting. This time, however, it was an experience I will never repeat. The $27 meal is now $35. Missing is the salad buffet (but Covid-19 is probably responsible). But the salad side that arrived was pathetic. No bread roll. Two absolutely soggy battered whiting on a bed of soggy and under-cooked chips. This is totally unacceptable.
I will not return until there is new management.

We were aware that previous reviews were a bit mixed which suggests that service could vary. We found the staff to be excellent and very friendly. The food was on the whole quite good. Assuming our experience was a typical one, we would recommend the Ventnor Hotel for a friends or family meal.

We chose the Ventnor Hotel for lunch to start off our long weekend away at Port Vincent. The hotel has been nicely upgraded and we enjoyed the window seat overlooking the seafront. Then we were handed the menu’s...where’s the seafood...no fish and chips, no butterfish, no calamari, no whiting, no garfish...just disappointment. A menu to reflect the perfect place overlooking the ocean would have been nice.

We were staying in Port Vincent for a couple of nights and went to this hotel on our first night for dinner. We ordered the Seafood Plate each and to our surprise it came out very quickly. The piece of crumbed fish was okay but the prawns smelt off and did not even look cooked. The calamari was revolting and could not even be eaten. Apart from being like rubber it appeared to have been pre cooked then chucked into the fryer to warm it up. We spoke with several other people that day and all that had been to this hotel said the same thing, food horrible and would never go back.
