We spend 5 days with Sean and had an awesome time. Although we had terrible weather we managed to have a few hours of sun where Sean took us fishing. The area is awesome , so unspoilt and authentic. Same with Sean ... A good man.. Nothing was too much for him. He helped with everything. Great fishing, great accomodation and great people at Marion Bay!

If you have children beware of the large uncontrolled German Shepherd dog that roams around at will. Looks magnificent but is not under any sort of control and is capable of who knows what. At the very least, one of the ladies cleaning the rooms said it jumps up on her car doors.

Firstly, to clarify this is a review of the owner not the property. My good friend booked Matjala a new property in Marion bay for the peak time of December/January 2014. They discussed this on the phone and it was available and was quoted as 'the kids will love it'. She attempted to pay a deposit today and was told he had accepted a booking for 2 weeks instead. Obviously quite happy to ruin the holiday of 10 adults and 8 children, we are scrambling to find another place but having no luck whatsoever. We have been offered the apartments above but same price for a lot less and the whole point was staying all together. If you book make sure you pay your deposit quick as possible as Sean has no conscience in upsetting and ruining peoples holidays.

Great place to stay. Is in a fantastic spot - jetty, tavern and general store all across the road. We found the owner very friendly also and if you are after a relaxing place to stay this is it. It is also pet friendly so another bonus. We stayed upstairs in one of the 3 units which were comfortable, they also have units downstairs.

Great place to relax and be by the sea. Accommodation vey comfortable with a small kitchen. If you leave something home, there is a well stocked general store within a minute's walk. The tavern is right across the road and serves fine meals. A short drive to Innes National Park for wonderful scenery and fantastic beaches. Highly recommended.
