“A great place to stay!”
Reviewed 3 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Six of us (3 couples ) stayed two nights at this delightful cottage. Everything was clean and comfortable. There were amazing " little " and unexpected touches, like an umbrella and a torch!! We found things were very generously supplied, like 2 litres of milk and bread in the freezer!! Thanks Helen for your care! Hendrika xo

“Old world cottage in a fabulous heritage location”

Lovely cottage stay in a most interesting heritage old mining township of Burra in South Australia. We were only travelling thru Burra heading to Perth and had no intentions of any extended stay until we realised what an awesome old township it was. Helen of the Pig & Whistle was so friendly and the B&B so well appointed you could not help but to feel right at home. Accomodation was for up to 7 people and the bed we had was super comfy, a full kitchen, old world lounge and tv area complete with heating of either reverse cycle or wood fire. Laundry and bathroom facilities with plenty of hot water and off street parking completes the picture. We will return to Burra on the way back to Victoria to stay again and have a really good look around the town. It would be easy to spend 2 to 3 days with Helen. Several Restaurants and a prolific number of original brick buildings give anyone interested in history, plenty to do. Easy walking distance (5 min) from the centre of the main town.

“Cosy Cottage”
Reviewed 30 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Helen was so helpful and wanted to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and waited patiently whilst we struggled with an international payment (which seems potty in these days of internet banking).
The cottage was perfect for our needs and equipped with everything that we could want.
The weather was very variable whilst we were there, which meant that the bathroom was occasionally a bit chilly.
The garden was huge, and came complete with a very nonchalant wild rabbit! We just wished that the weather had been a little kinder to us so that we could have used the BBQ and enjoyed the space more.

“What a joy to stay in this lovely cottage with such 'atmosphere'.”
Reviewed 9 September 2013 for a stay in February 2013

The cottage was on the outskirts of Burra in a quiet road, facilities were really excellent, the owner was more than helpful with all our questions. Comfortable, clean, a 'happy' place, need we say more.

Nice to hear from you, although the cottage is on the outskirts of town and is in a peaceful spot, over that side of town it is close enough to walk along the bike track to the shops and restaurants in a couple of minutes. Its a wonderful track that takes you along the creek. Thanks for the nice review.
