We have just returned from a holiday in a 3 bedroom lodge at Ruda.

The lodge was lovely. Nice and modern looking, had everything you could think of, including an en-suite to the master bedroom which isn't mentioned on the website. We also had a bathroom with bath and shower combined. What also wasn't mentioned was they supply towels and tea towel, we didn't need to bring our own. You also get your own dustbin. What also wasn't mentioned was the second TV in the master bedroom.

You have your own allocated parking space but if more than one car you have to put it where you can.

The setting is nice with lots of plants around the lodge with just a short walk to the beach and children's play area. Our little 4 year old grandson loved it.

I bought swimming tickets as I didn't know what to do when booking and the option came up but we didn't use them all and they wouldn't take them back, so I would advise buying them when you get there as and when you want them.

They call it luxury and I would agree but it doesn't come cheap, trouble I wouldn't want to down grade after this.

Just got back from a lovely break at Ruda. Whilst the rest of the country had torrential rain we were lucky to have glorious sunshine. Our caravan was very nice, well equipped and clean. Plenty of bedding, even though we did bring our own. Our caravan had central heating, which did come in handy as our last night was a bit chilly and we needed it! Great in the cooler months.
We took advantage of the sunshine and headed to Croyde beach. Wow is all I can say. It is breathtaking and we actually had a paddle whilst watching the surfers.
We took advantage of the swimming pool on site which the children ( 3 and 8) absolutly loved. Swimming is payable at £1.50 per person but this is well worth the money, my son desperatly tried to beat the time of the day on the 'big blue' waterslide, he didn't do it but had great fun trying!
We ate at the Atlantic blue ( on site restaurant ) twice and both times was very nice and reasonably priced. I do wish there was more healthy options on the menu for the children however. The children enjoyed the soft play area whilst we watched them and had a quiet drink after our meal. Great little arcade that our son enjoyed. Our three year old adored the mini disco but was so worn out by our third night she didn't make it any more! We tried the fish and chip shop on site too which again was reasonably priced and nice.
Croyde is lovely and we had a lovely meal if somewhat large at The Thatch.
Overall Ruda is a lovely holiday park, staff are friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely time and would not hesitate to go back.

When most of the country had heavy rain. We had a heat wave. We arrived it was sunny and warm. Our first impression was everything looked good. We stayed in a braunton caravan. Living room and kitchen spacious and nice. It was very clean. Downside bedrooms and bath room very small and beds uncomfortable. Had a lovely varanda with great views. The grounds very tidy and litter free. Not far from the beach and lovely walks. great place if you like surfing. we had a great holiday.

We had a family break for a week at Ruda in May not in peak season. The weather was great which made the holiday even better but we loved Ruda. We upgraded to a higher spec. caravan and was glad we did. The caravan was great, clean and well equipped with a great veranda. The swimming pool was fab even though you have to pay extra to use the pool. Well worth it as our kids wanted to go every day and were becoming much more confident in the water by the end of our holiday. The entertainment was good, although we did not see the later shows. The only downside was that the food on the site was not very good and we only ate there the first night and was really disappointed. After this we walked into Croyde each night. The area is lovely with a short walk through the park onto the beach, into Croyde and along the coast. Our kids wanted to stay forever!!! Can't wait to go back.

We were most disappointed with our stay at ruda. we did manage to pick the worst weather this year i think however this was not what disappointed us (in fact we laughed about it and made the best of it). what was very disappointing was the customer service in particular. i had high hopes given that making the booking over the phone was simple and i managed to speak to someone who was both coherent and helpful. However on arrival there appeared to be noone with the above qualities at the park. we arrived at 515pm to find the reception office closed. the woman in the shop directed us vaguely to the bar. at the bar, eventually after about 15 minutes the waiter called security who then told us to go down to the wooden security hut and there would be somebody there to help. we went to the hut and it was locked up with noone there. so we gave up! we were meeting friends at the park so we just went to their pitch to meet up with them. At this point i phoned ruda to try to find out where our pitch was - the person on the phone gave me the same instructions as before - to go to the wooden hut. I told her we were not going to go on a wild goose chase again especially in the rain and i demanded that she just give us our pitch number over the phone. In the end we decided to just pitch our tent in a free spot near our friends given that we had had such little information. Really disappointing and £39 for one night just for a pitch with no electricity etc was not good value in any way. The showers were clean but lacked facilities normally found in good campsites (electricity points for example). we wont be returning.
