Myself and 13 friends stayed here for three nights over New Year Eve weekend and Croyde Beach Haven was the perfect place for us.
The house was clean and had all the facilities we required - including a hot tub with an amazing view over the hills! (However note that the hot tub does require a supplement, but for us it was definitely worth it). The garden/patio area is really sociable with lots of tables and chairs, a chiminea, barbeque and a swing set/playhouse which is nice if you have children amongst your party.
When we arrived there was a lovely bag of goodies waiting for us on the doorstep which was so generous - including some Prosecco and mince pies which went down a treat!
The contact, Nina, was very responsive and available to help with queries. We did have a issue when we arrived that the electricity had tripped and the appliances weren't working, however we contacted Nina and she helped us resolve the issue straight away. Nina also allowed us to push back the check-out time to 12pm instead of 10am, which was really helpful (unfortunately I don't think the message was passed on to the property inspector so he arrived too early, but we explained and he came back later).
The house is within a a very cute village with a few shops and pubs. We had a lovely meal in The Thatch pub which is literally about a 30 second walk down the road. There is also an ice cream shop and bakery very near by. It is about a 15/20 minute walk to Croyde Bay which is beautiful.
Overall we had a brilliant stay and would definitely recommend booking with Choice Cottages.
Our family spent a week at Beach Haven at the end of June. Although the house and garden were pleasant there were some problems including there being no linen provided for the cot we requested, we could not get the stereo, DVD player or Playstation to work and both toilets became blocked.
On the day of our arrival we rang the Property Manager regarding the cot linen and were told this would be delivered the following morning but this didn't happen. We made several more phone calls to the Property Manager and the office while we were there but these were not returned until near the end of our stay. On our return home we wrote to both the Property Manager and Choice Cottages but have not received a reply.
On a positive note the children loved the garden that was full of things for them to play with and the teenagers loved using the surfboards.

We have recently returned from a much needed break at croyde beech haven. The cottage was clean , amazingly comfortable, and very well equipped. There was no exaggeration in the advertising of this property, everything was exactly as we had expected, and much more. So glad we found you ! Thankyou so much for the cream scones too !
Just returned from a fabulous weeks stay in this very nice cottage. The location is perfect for the village, the local pubs and restaurants and the beach. The accomadation was lovely and although two rooms were a little small they were adequate for our needs. We managed the car parking by using the local village car park at £3.50 a day as the property only has room for two cars. We were a little disappointed that there were no wine glasses!!!.There were plenty of pint glasses and tumblers but no wine glasses and although the bedding and towels were obviously clean some were stained and a little tired. These are just small things that can be easily fixed. Our overwhelming opinion however that was that the property was lovely and it had everything we needed for a lovely stay.
As a returning customer to North Devon with Choice cottages, I must bestow upon them the highest praise for their unrivalled professionalism, overall efficiency, ease of booking, and quality of their properties, which all made for another wonderful week in Croyde.
In mid May, myself and a group of fourteen 20-somethings stayed in the Croyde Beach Haven on Hobbs Hill. On first arrival the property was immaculately presented with all rooms and bedding provided perfectly for each guest. Furthermore, the garden, barbecue and hot tub were well kept and in perfect condition to provide us with a hassle free start to the week.
The location of the house was ideal for a large group, being close to several shops in the Croyde village, next door to the Thatch pub, a short 5-10 minute walk to Croyde bay, and just down the road from the various activities at the Croyde Holiday camp.
All the living functions of the house worked perfectly with ample hot water (even for the outdoor shower) and efficient heating to keep the rooms and living areas warm throughout the week.
Another point to mention was the availability of beach toys, wind breaks and surf boards ready to use at the house which made beach trips a lot smoother for a big group.
Finally, having stayed in a couple of other Croyde cottages, I found the Beach Haven the perfect size for a group of 14 and the use of the garden was imperative during warm days as the surrounding hedges acted as a windbreak… a real sun trap!
Thank you once again for another cracking week and for anyone considering Choice Cottages I can firmly recommend them as a company run by attentive, polite and efficient individuals who guarantee a care free holiday in North Devon.
