We stayed in this hotel, half board for a week, week commencing 12th October'16. We paid extra for a pool side view, which was nice. The room was a modern double room, with a walk in Shower. Clean and modern. There was a safe/fridge at an extra cost. TV in room, managed to find an English channel, but no problem as only really slept in room. Only sat out for an hour at the pool, as the sun does not come around there until late afternoon. It was empty, but the spa/jacuzzi was busy. Think this was because the weather was bad, so all the kids where in there. They are allowed in the indoor pool, but there were signs everywhere showing that kids not allowed in spa. Made absolutely no difference, they where in and out of the indoor and outdoor jacuzzi all the time. If you are thinking of a relaxing spa forget it!!!! Managed to get in once, plus once people are in they hog it for ages. Beware.
The hotel is not in the centre of Lloret, it is near to Fennels beach, which is a lot quieter. The sand on both beaches is not fine sand, more like little fine stones, so need something on your feet! We took an open top boat trip from Fennel Beach to Tossa de Mar. I would recommend this, it is such a pretty town, with castle, and wonderful restaurants to eat in, and nice shops, really clean as well. Wished we had stayed here. The food in the hotel was OK. Think I would have gone mad if I had been full board! The fish is not that great, was disappointing really, usual salad bar, chips, spaghetti, meat, fish. We had paella once, did not look appetising. The desserts were an absolute let down, consisted of different flavour mousses, some fruit, small pieces of cake, with artificial cream on top. Same every night. Plus a cheese board of 3/4 different cheeses. There is something for everyone to eat, we had had enough, and we did not eat there every night. The breakfast was OK, ham, cheese, bread and english style, if you wanted. The cappuccino was good and the juices.
Some of the waiters are rude, not the girls, but the men are, especially the older guy with glasses, absolutely miserable and always having a go at staff! It is toward the end of the season there, so hotel is closing end of October, so maybe he needs a break!!!
The ladies on reception are really nice and helpful, especially Amina, also Isabella behind the bar is also friendly and nice to chat with. I do not know how to describe the entertainment.......guy singing to a tape one night, Flamenco was quite good. That was all we saw, it is not on every night.
What lacks is atmosphere in the bar/seating area. It needs a total re-vamp!!!! The bar area is like canteen chairs and tables, we never sat around the area. Lots of nice little bars with atmosphere outside hotel.
All in all the hotel is good for the room we had, I would not go back and stay there again, but staff nice at reception and is in a good location. Weather is debatable in October.
