“The Diamond of Treasure Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2011

The hotel is part of the Treasure Island commercial development at Tukoganj. Due to a side entrance the grand lobby is missing but that does not take away anything from your experience. Rooms are spotless, very nice quality amenities. The restaurant has a huge breakfast spread, very nicely laid out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a smart well managed hotel.

It is located in heart of the city. It is also known as the mall hotel as it right besides a shopping mall. I liked the location. Food is good. If you do not like to eat at hotel go to McDonalds or other restaurants in teh mall. Rooms are good, service is good. Over all a good experience. The hotel staff was very helpfull.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2011

I lived in Indore, went to college (SGSITS) in the early 90s. My parents have since migrated back to Goa and I've moved to Boston.
I have not been to Indore in 12 years and this was to be a nostalgic trip with my parents, my sister and her kids, down memory lane!

I booked the two hotel rooms on Expedia. I requested airport pickup and an extra bed in each room at the time of booking.

On arrival in Indore our pick up was no where to be seen. We called up the hotel, only to find out that the pick up was waiting for us to arrive on a different flight and therefore was not standing at the arrivals with a placard.
Minutes later we were on our way to the hotel.
As all other reviewers have mentioned, this hotel is strategically located behind Treasure Island, and within a mile of most businesses and the railway station (needed for our day trip to Mhow - where I went to high school!)
The rooms were VERY clean and tidy. The extra bed was not set up yet, but as soon as we checked in (check in was a breeze too!), someone was on it, and 30 minutes later both rooms had an extra pull out bed set up for us.
The room size was sufficiently big in my opinion... but then I'm not one to spend hours IN a hotel room!
The staff replenished the bottled water in the room every day.
The business center has a computer if you want to check emails. I would have preferred air conditioning here!
The buffets were what impressed me the most. Included in our room charges was this exquisite layout of food choices broadly divided into Indian and Western options (cereal, boiled eggs, french toast etc!)

There seemed to be enough staff at the front desk (actually sometimes more staff than what I'd know what to do with! I mean, do you really need someone to press the elevator button for you?! :)
Oh, and they were all courteous.

There's a pool on the 7th(?) floor that we dipped our toes in, but it also has restaurant for dining (which we never used - so can't review the food quality). You get a pretty good view of the Eastern part of the city and its suburbs from here.

Overall, a definite recommendation from someone who lived in this town a decade ago.
(Now the city, well, that's another review, not so generous, but for another day :)

Its at Treasure Island mall... One of the only good malls I've seen in Indore! walking distance from yeshwant club where I'd to attend a wedding..
Rooms are very tidy and it is absolutely a value for money... Easy transport to almost all the places in Indore. They provide a pick up as well from the airport if you call them in advance.
If you're getting bored in between the you can take a walk around the Mall and do some useful shopping!

Stayed in the Sarovar Portico twice in 2011. A decent hotel for short stays. Room was very small when compared to Lemon Tree for almost the same rate. Beds were clean and soft and the air conditioning was quite effective.

The hotel has an ultra small lobby which seems to be understaffed at times as I had to wait for 15 minutes to check in while the single man handling checkins was busy attending to phone calls and other check in's and check outs. The interiors are quite modern with carpeted floors. The breakfast was boring, cold and not at all well made. The staff was quite helpful though. Overall a good hotel.
