My family and I were camping nearby and stopped to eat dinner at the Tavern. Food and service were great! Unfortunately, when we returned to our campsite, I realized I had left my purse with all of our vacation money there. We had no cell service and were not able to return until the next morning. The staff worked diligently to find my purse and treated us like we were VIPs until the purse was found(with all contents intact!). I can't express how touched we were the honesty, kindness, and hospitality we experienced. We will be returning and this time we will schedule some nights to stay at Tapoco Lodge!

It's encouraging when historic real estate makes its way into the right ownership, and such is the case with Tapoco Lodge Resort. Kevin, Connie, Kim, and Dave delivered genuine hospitality in their marvelous historic setting that is growing better by the hour. Do not pass on an opportunity to visit Tapoco. Your marriage/family/soul will thank you.

Stayed here Easter weekend to get away on the motorcycle.
We stayed in Mountain View 3 because 2 was out of service. Nice room with a very nice view overlooking the property. We actually enjoyed watching the staff park a big birthday party that afternoon.
Room was a good size for just the wife and I. Comfortable bed. Keurig coffee maker, dorm size fridge, and a nice size bathroom that included a hairdryer.
Some rocking chairs would have been nice on the front porch but the bar type chairs and table worked for watching cars, bikes, and people come and go.
Service was great and the fire in the lodge waiting area was awesome on a chilly night! Food and beverages are on site at the tavern so you can park and stay.
There is covered bike parking at the bottom of the hill or uncovered parking right by the cabin if you drive up.
My only two suggestions for Tapoco to consider are 1) a quieter “gator” for early morning tasks as it will wake you up if you are a late sleeper and 2) complimentary WiFi for staying on the property vs charging more for it. Dollars add up once you stop in at the Tavern...
We will be back to stay at a couple more rooms to see which we prefer. I highly recommend trying this place out.

So happy you and your wife enjoyed your stay with us on Easter weekend and thank you for sharing the details of our lodge! It truly is an incredible place! We appreciate your suggestions. Regarding the WIFI and having it be complimentary, here's our thinking on that. After a 2 year process trying to get access in our remote location - it was quite the undertaking and very costly. But it did allow our surrounding community to take advantage of internet service and a portion of each internet purchase goes to our local volunteer fire dept. We are so thankful to be able to support our community partners!
Again, thanks for visiting and we do hope to see you again!

Due to an error on my behalf we arove one day earlier then our reservations. Being very late in the evening, Dave at the front desk offered us an alternative room which was very nice.
The lodge, the dinner and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. We return to the Tapoco when we have more time to spend in this area. Additionally the overall setting is outstanding.

Room Tip: Call the front desk first and let them know what you are looking for, they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

There is nothing about the Tapoco to dislike. Nestled remotely, this timeless haven balances 1930s nostalgia with 20th century amenities and friendly service making this a “must return” on our list. The preservation of timeless elements of a roadside lodge of yesteryear add to the ambiance while the quiet setting make exhaling all the more easier. Every element of the property says “welcome” and “make your self at home” while keeping quality front and center.

Plan to stay and slow your pace.... enjoy the creekside dining (campfire nachos in a cast iron skillet..... yes, please!!) and don’t be afraid to stir a bit of conversation with the staff. You won’t regret it.

Thank you for those heartfelt words! We have also described Tapoco as historical ambience with modern conveniences and we're so glad that resonated with you. This is a magical place of adventure and sanctuary and please do come back and visit us again!
