“Home away from home”

Fantastic sunny cottage with everything you could need for an extended stay. We cooked a full Thanksgiving meal and the large fridge and convection oven were very nice to have! (Ingles Grocery Store in Spruce Pine is within 20 minutes drive). Easy to get to off a small road, the cottage is very quiet and convenient to Penland School of Crafts. We had great hikes at both Mt. Roan and Linville Falls (each only 30 minutes drive away). Jada, the owner, was extremely responsive in case of any questions about the cabin.

“Close to Penland School, Comfortable and Clean”
Reviewed 21 August 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This is a cute little house near a stream with a big yard and firepit. It is out in the country - no cell reception. It sleeps 5-6 if you count the futon and the couches. We stayed in June and the summer breeze was quite nice. the house was clean. The kitchen was updated. The back room gets lots of light and is quite nice to sit in.

The house is extremely convenient to the Penland School - only a 5 min drive away. There are also some small towns nearby that have some restaurants, shops, and galleries. The appalachian trail and roan mountain are within a 30-45 min drive as well.

“Proximity, comfort, and abundance”

If you want to clear your mind, awaken your senses, renew your spirit, and reconnect with nature, just come here! Fantastic location, especially for the artists attending Penland School of Crafts (5 minutes away). Relax by the creek and listen to the bubbling water stream over the rocks. Take your munch/tea/coffee/wine to the creek and chill down for full cleansing of the city noise and hustle. In fact you can enjoy the sound of the creek from the porch! Centered in the middle of all attractions! Go in any direction and you hit multiple heavenly sites! Roan, Mitchell, Sugar, grandfather Mountains are within short driving distance. Multiple water falls within 20 minutes or so. Abundance of world-class Galleries and cozy restaurants and bars. Why spend over $300/night in Boon or Asheville when you can relax here and drive (~1 hr) to these cities. You truly get the best of all here. Jada, the host was fantastic lady who made sure all our needs were met or exceeded. The house is super clean and has all the amenities you may need. The large family room and sun room makes you feel living in a much larger place. Bedroom were clean and beds were top-quality and super comfortable.
