The best thing about this hotel is it is right across from the beach and has nice views from the rooms. If you have a dog it is one of the only choices of places to stay in that is this close to the beach. If you don't have a dog Do Not Stay Here. The other reviews say it all...run down, etc. There is a nice pool that had not one lounge chair! I think the level of non customer service is what really shocked me. On Wednesday Sept 2, I was the only guest in the whole place! The front desk person went home and I was left ALONE in the hotel. Thank god I have my dog. I was very creeped out and a little annoyed that no one from the hotel had the courtesy to tell me what to do in case of emergency or anything! When I went the next morning to address the situation of being left alone the front desk woman said "You do know how to dial 911 don't you?" This response coupled with the fact that it was highly priced and not worth the money just broke the camel's back! The level of customer service is non-existent. Too bad really as it has the potential and the location to be really nice.

We found the motel online, and the location opp the beach sounded ideal, they even allow dogs which made it perfect. We booked a room for 4 nights and arrived around 7pm after a long car ride. The fact that we were one of only 3 cars at a beachside motel in mid-August immediately raised a red flag. They insisted that we pay for 4 nights upfront. OMG when we walked into the room (even the dog freeked out) the smell the dirt YUK. Hasten to say we were exhausted and very upset. Next morning a different manager was on duty and willingly refunded our money. Apart from that very professional manager we have nothing at all to say other than “disgusting”

Room Tip: Sleep in your car

Three lousy nights before we just walked away after tehy did NOTHING to remedy problems.

Overall the accommodations were unsuitable and unsatisfactory and completely failed to me the standard promised in their advertising. For three nights we tried to get the issues resolved unsuccessfully and checked out one day early, moving to the Holiday Inn Express for our final night.

The rooms and the overall premises are very run down and in need of cosmetic and other repairs. In the room itself there was peeling wallpaper and loose plaster on the ceilings, all vents and the electrical panel was very rusty and there were water marks around the windows. The carpet, cabinets and kitchenette were old and deteriorated with discolored countertops and sagging doors. Besides the mattresses being of very low quality the bedding was old and there were cigarette burns in one of the two blankets. In addition the carpets were dirty and left the bottom of my feet discolored when I walked barefoot in the room. The overall quality was not even up to the standards of a 1 star establishment.

We were visiting family and friends whom we had not seen for several years so we booked accommodation based on their internet advertising promising clean comfortable accommodations. When we arrived at approximately 8:20 PM on July 7 we were assigned to unit 203. When we entered there was a stale odor and the air conditioning was inoperative so we contacted the front desk and were moved to room 205 for the night. On the morning of the 8th we were told that repairs had been completed in 203 and asked to move our belongings to that unit which we did after verification that the AC was working and the stale odor was gone.

We left for the day and returned late that evening. When we went to bed we found it very uncomfortable with the mattress springs clearly visible and able to be felt by running a hand over the mattress. Since the office was closed we put blankets over the mattress and got a poor night’s sleep. In the morning I spoke to the housekeeping supervisor and was told they would look at the issue and take care of it and we left for the day. Due to the uncomfortable bed and lack of a good night sleep our day was not as pleasant as it should have been and we took a nap at my parent’s house.

On our return Thursday night the office was closed and we found nothing had been done beyond remaking the bed so the problem with the mattress and its springs was not resolved. We again made the best of things and in the morning I went to the office to complain and tell them that we were leaving a day early to find room elsewhere. The manager’s only response was there is a no refund policy. We left and booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express a few miles way for our final night.

Room Tip: Do not stay in this hole in the wall. Sleep in your car, it's more comfortable.

If you are looking to take Fido with you and want to be across the street from the beach and around the corner from Caswell beach which is a Pet Friendly (think off the leash until 9am during high season and off the leash all the time otherwise) then this is the place for you. If you have taken your pet anywhere you know how difficult it can be to find a place.Having said that this hotel is outdated and is in need of some remodeling/small repair. It is clean and comfortable and the staff is very, very nice but unless you are bringing a pet you can do better not to far from here.

Room Tip: 201 has a deck that overlook the ocean, 211 is a good choice for a single room

Checked out of a hotel in town when we found this place. It's nothing fancy but has a kitchen and across the street from the beaches and walking distance to Flying fish. Also close by shops and markets you can drive, walk or bike too. Stayed in the first floor directly in front of the beach with a closed in balcony that was great for the dogs…The ladies that work there became like family. Depending on the season, it can be crowded but for convenience and the price - it's a good find.

Room Tip: 2nd floor if you don't want to hear footsteps above your head - or first floor in slow season or if traveling with pets.
