“Exceptional bed and breakfast.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2012

We stayed in the Hidden Room which is light and airy which I loved. The location is convenient and safe to walking the downtown historic area. We actually live in New Bern but stayed here as a local getaway for our anniversary. The breakfast was sooooo good and you are able to arrive for breakfast any time between 8 and 9am. Each day there is a choice of 3 different entrees. It is a very hearty meal. There is an evening wine reception in the late afternoon. We would strongly recommend the Arerie. The owners are excellent hosts!

What a wonderful retreat my husband and I had at the beautiful Aerie Bed and Breakfast! I arranged a surprise trip for my husband and he was not thrilled initially. Once we arrived however, I could see him relax. The reception from Marty and Michael was like visiting old friends. They made us feel welcome and as if we were very important guests. The room, The King George III, was as regal as you could ever expect from a 5 star luxury hotel. But the service even better! New Bern was a great town to vist and being right in the center we never moved our car once we arrived. We enjoyed a spa massage in our room and a carriage ride to a wonderful dinner. We truly had a mini-vacation. The highlight for both of us was breakfast. If the apple cinnamon pancakes are on the menu, you have got to try them. The best pancakes I have ever had. If not, I am sure you can not go wrong with any choice, the omlettes are wonderful as well. Marty must be the best chef in New Bern.

Without a doubt we will stay at the Aerie with Marty and Michael when we return to New Bern.

Room Tip: There are 9 rooms. The King George III and Caleb Braham rooms are in the guest house across from th...

Originally stumbling upon the Aerie in 2008, my boyfriend and I have been back 10 times and, despite being about ready to wrap up his military career in nearby Cherry Point, we will continue to visit New Bern JUST for the Aerie! Perfectly situated on Pollock St, the Aerie is a nice walk from all the area shops and amazing restaurants. The innkeepers, Marty & Michael, have become friends throughout the years and we love sharing our visits w/them. Breakfast is out of this world, the beds are SO comfortable and each room has something to adore about it. Our favorite thus far is the King George III in the new conference center across the street & then, Hidden Room. Enjoy a romantic package or in-suite massages - everything about the Aerie is perfection!

Room Tip: Choose one of the two rooms across the street in the conference center for a feeling of more privacy...

Services was unbelievable! When we got to New Bern it was 104 degrees & we left to go to diner & the air conditioning wasn't keeping up with the heat; by the time we returned from dinner they had bought & installed a new window unit & our room was 71 degrees ( perfect sleeping temp). I never slept so well in the luxurious sheets & comfy bed. The breakfast was outstanding & Marty gave us wonderful sightseeing advice. What a great anniversary get away!

From the cordial greeting to the "hope to see you again soon" farewells, our stay at the Aerie was a wonderful relaxing stay for us. The antique funished home, wonderfully appointed room and gourmet breakfasts were just the perfect way to start our summer.
