On our summer trip to the SC beach from Indy, we stopped in Morganton NC for the night. At the recommendation of the Quality Inn (formerly Holiday Inn - see hotel review) we went pointed to the Harbor Island. It was Saturday night about 6 and the place was packed but we were shown directly to a nice booth where our waitress promptly goy my wife a diet coke and me some SWEET tea (yummy for us northerners). we ordered off the Lite menu with wife getting salt and pepper catfish and me having fried flounder. Two things happened next, the food came out very quickly (almost too quickly) and it was piping hot fresh out of the fryers! My wife loved her fish, while i thought mine was sub-par. The hush puppoes were great, as was the side of slaw, but the fries were soggy and disappointing.
i am giving them a 4 overall because our bill was less than $20 with tip! the food was probably a 3, the service a 4, the atmossphere a 3. And ya - the sweet tea a 10!
