We ordered a case of wine on August 8, 2019 and never received it. After making multiple calls and sending multiple emails - management has stopped communicating and will not issue a refund. General Manager "Farley" has given multiple excuses like: he doesn't answer his phone if he doesn't know the number, he is super busy, too many vendors and artist call him.. and these are the reason he can't be bothered to return a call. We have left message with the tasting room for the owners that have not be returned. They have now stated they no longer ship wine, and would refund our order. That was months ago and still no refund. Ultimately, we have been scammed. Since they kept stringing us along, the purchase is now outside of the window to be disputed with our credit card company and we will never see the money again nor receive the product. Buyer Beware!!!
My wife and I recently toured the attractions of Lewisville, NC and we stumbled upon this gem. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of all things wine and beer. It was a great pleasure speaking with them. Their wine selection was excellent, supplying not only estate offerings, but also some seriously tasty wines from all corners of the world. I'm normally not much a beer drinker, but I tried the "Blood Orange Wheat" at the insistence of their manager and I absolutely fell in love! SO tasty! The three hours of live music (which I understand is a usual occurrence on the weekend) was the cherry on top to our experience. I would highly recommend stopping by if you're passing through.
A friend took me to Westbend Winery and Brewery midday on Friday for my birthday for a wine tasting. Since it was in the middle of the day on a workday, there were very few attendees, but those that were there gave the place a good people vibe.
Though there were plenty of seats at the bar, my friend and I stood for our wine tasting experience. Our sommelier was well versed in each wine he offered us and presented each in a professional and enjoyable way. It was clear that he had a real passion for the wines and the story behind the origin of each one.
I personally have a sweeter pallet when it comes to wine; to my delight, our tasting guide found a perfectly sweet dessert wine for me to have. In contrast, my friend's taste runs more towards dry reds. She was offered a wider selection with her preference and was happy with her choice. We packed a nice cheese, meat, and cracker picnic to enjoy while her dog frolicked about. So, after we finished our wine tasting, we went outside to enjoy the day.
My friend brought her dog who was kindly welcomed inside and offered water by the Westbend employees. He was even allowed off-leash to play frisbee in the large, open field behind the building. Granted, it was a slow day, so his off-leash adventures may have been only permitted situationally. But, if you have a well-behaved dog and other guests are open to it, it may not be a problem on more busy days.
We were fortunate enough to visit this winery/brewery on a weekday. Only two others stopped by while we were there. We enjoyed tasting the wines and most were to our liking. My husband also tasted beer which he enjoyed very much. Sadly the beer was not available in cans. Since we were traveling it made no sense to purchase a growler. We did purchase several wines, Grenache, Merlot and Sangiovese. We felt the winetasting charge was excessive but we were there and didn’t want to just leave. The staff was very nice to talk to and parking is ample.
We went here because they were open late for tastings and others were closed. It is a neat place with gas fire pits outside. Wine was good and beer was even better! Definitely worth a visit.
The wine is okay, but not exactly my preferred taste. The service is pretty slow and when they’re busy it’ll take a good 40 minutes to get a wine tasting and 10 minutes to get a glass of wine. I ordered a salad that I waited over an hour for because they forgot to put the order in. A friend that was with us also ordered food and waited 45 minutes. They need to have a better system in place for their food orders or stick to the food trucks.
