What a relaxing and beautiful hotel. We ordered the Comfort and Joy package for a special romantic weekend getaway. We were each able to have breakfast, two spa treatments each, and a lovely dinner for a great deal. The bungalow was very romantic. We would recommend this to anyone who needs a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is walking distance to delicious restaurants, shopping, and hiking. Go in the fall to enjoy the changing of the leaves and fireside relaxation.

The Old Edwards in is a beautiful historic hotel in Highlands, North Carolina. Although it is a trek on some windy roads to get there, once there it is elegant and nice and good for a weekend getaway or a social gathering.

The hotel was very clean and nice. Although we had limited contact with many service people at the hotel, it seemed top notch. The location was probably the best part of the hotel. It is right on Main Street in the midst of Highlands. It is a little pricey but it seemed to us that even the lower end hotels in the area were fairly pricey so I would probably recommend paying up for the Old Edwards Inn.

The rooms were nicer in the Lodge than in the Inn, mostly because they were newer but then te age also had its charm. The electronic control they have in the rooms that controls everything from the TV to the lights to the temperature was the worst part of the trip and both my wife and I each almost unplug it and threw it out the window.

The complimentary cokes and waters and dove bars were a nice touch as well.

The pool area is beautiful and heated. And there is also a bar right there. The food service at the pool can be slow because the food comes from the restaurant in the hotel which also means it is pretty tasty.

There are some neat hikes in the area. We played a golf course that was about 20 or 30 mintues away. It takes a long time to get anywhere with the curvy mountain roads.

This was our second visit to the Old Edwards Inn. Since our last tri[ they have added The Lodge, a lovely group of cottage-like suites. Our suite was outstanding: cuddly beds, fireplace, comfy living room,2 big screen TVs, big whirlpool bath, screened porch with private garden, and heated bathroom floors. Landscaping all over this new property was beautiful, including the pool area. Spa and fitness center are very good. We could not get wireless internet from our room, a problem that was not resolved. An air conditioner malfunction, however, was fixed almost immediately. The main inn building has the Hummingbird Lounge with a good pianist most nights. Our only disappointment was the food quality at Madison's--I've never had a steak swimming in a watery sauce. Continental breakfast was in the Inn only; I would have liked it in the Lodge as well. Menus in other parts of the hotel are all the same, even at the pool bar and spa, except for the Rib Shack, which has first-class Southern barbecue as well as "Yankee" fare. We had excellent dinners in town at Cyprus and Paoletti's, and there are other good restaurants in town. We definitely plan to return.

Everything is first class! Loved the Lodge area. The spa is great and the pool is beautiful.
Our service was the best with turndown service with rose petals on the bed. We will return soon.
