I was to be in E City for a reunion and came across The Pond House in my search for accommodations. Growing up there, i have always wanted to see inside. I was not disappointed. Martha has done a wonderful service to our community to have undertaken the care and upkeep of this true landmark, and for my wife and I to be able to stay there was a privilege. The grounds are beautiful looking in, and even more so looking out over the river. The history of the landscaping going back to the 1870's is amazing. Our room was immaculate with a king size bed and a spotless bathroom. The house has a study, a sitting room, a sun room, and a large deck. The grounds are large, with care evidenced everywhere. And I checked it all out.
We also found out what the breakfast part of bed and breakfast is supposed to be. Anything and everything, served privately in a large dining room. We felt pampered.
Thanks Martha for a wonderful experience.
