My husband loves to "mine for gems" at these places. We have been to places like this all over the southeast and he had been to this store before and had a good turnout. However, on this trip we spent $100.00 on a bucket of dirt. There were only gems at the top of the bucket. Once we got towards the middle and bottom of the bucket there were no usable gems. In fact, we found no rubies. or emeralds. What a disappointing trip. We expressed our displeasure to the workers and they did not seem to care. I'm only giving it 2 stars because my husband had enjoyed it the time before. Otherwise it would be one star.

Took my teenage daughter with her friends. They visited here twice due to how friendly the staff was. Very helpful in identifying gems. So much fun. We were staying nearby and they enjoyed just stopping by to say hi to the staff. Nice family outing.

My kids were dying to go and dig for gems here. Every time we went passed it I told them no. So this time I decided to give in. There were so many prices and different bags of dirt you could buy to mine for gems. The guy there tried to get me to buy 50.00 worth of dirt for 4 kids, but I didn't want that much dirt or pay that much money. We did settle for sand buckets with dirt in them for 10.00 a piece. We didn't find that many rocks at all. We were done in like 15 minutes or less and walked away with really nothing. But we did get to keep the sand buckets though. I am sure if we spent the 50.00 we probably would have gotten more gems but I wasn't willing to pay it. My preteens didn't really have that much fun there and my 6 year old was kinda sad about not finding any stones. If you have toddlers I am sure they would love it

Opportunity to get some pretty cool semi-precious gemstones, and to spend some time with tour family. Last time we got their huge bucket for $50. Since there were 5 of us, worked out as one of the cheaper options. Can go in afterwards with what you've "found" and see the jewelers who can create various things with your stones. Have gotten earrings and a ring in the past, but this last time we passed on that part of it. A little gift shop as well.

My son is a gem and mineral lover!! We stopped here and bought a 5 gallon bucket of dirt to mine with. He was soo excited about all the gems and minerals he found! The gentlemen working were very polite and knowledgeable! Will be going back on our next trip down!
