I’ve been here several times through the years with friends & family... Always a great visit... Festivals, wedding, taking photos for special occasions, walking through the park, & more.

Small lake, meandering paved paths, stone bridge, fountains, soccer fields, green space, grills, picnic tables, even a timer to see how fast you are in a 20 yard dash! We loved it and visited twice during our stay in Charlotte! Bonus: the greenway goes right thru the park! Ride a bike from your hotel downtown to the park!

Freedom Park is great place to visit. Close to downtown. Great play areas for kids, ball fields for little league soccer, lacrosse and baseball. Easy to run few laps around the lake. Nature museum next to the park is small but nice diversion. Greenway trail that runs through the woods and then down to Park Road shopping center is well maintained. Not sure what the people fishing in the park are catching. Heard that lots of goldfish have been let loose in the pond over the years.
