If I were to compare this to other Marriott Brands, such as the Courtyard about 1 mile away, this hotel would get 2 stars--top. But. afterall, it is a Fairfield Inn, which is the lower end of Marriott brands.

I am, however, going to only compare it to other Fairfields, so it gets 3 stars: it is average for the brand. This is considered a category 4 hotel by Marriott's ratings, but that is only for location. It is a Category 2 in reality. In contrast, a Fairfield in cities such as Elkin, NC are about the same category rating but many times better in every regard.

If priced about the same as the Courtyard a mile away, go to the Courtyard. It is new and you will love it.

What I liked:
-Location is in walking distance of good restaurants, such as the Japanese/Sushi one next door.
-Could not hear neighbors
-Room was fine

What I disliked:
-Average in about every way
-The breakfast is limited. Where's the eggs and bacon?
-Where's the flat screen TVs? Yikes! They have 1980's technology for TVs.

Recommendation: Take a trip to the Elkin, NC Fairfield and measure the difference.

The room was very nice and clean. No complaints about the room or the service. The breakfast was nothing to write home about (budget continental breakfast) but for the price $62 a night you couldn't beat it. I have also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and while their breakfast was nicer- their room was not as nice or as clean as Fairlfield. My family and I will be back. No pets and No smoking. The computers in the lobby worked great.

Had 2 rooms for family and kids. Upgraded to suits with a kind and sleeper. Nice rooms, clean. Breakfast was good, but nothing too special. Overall, was a good place to stay and location was really good. Kids like having a pool to swim in, but it had a ton of chlorine. Japanese restaurant next door was really good. A super nice guy named Audin actually sings and plays guitar at your table.... odd, but really cool.

We had a great one night stay here in Boone. The hotel was easy to find right on the main highway through town. The hotel let us check in a few hours early and our room was spotless. The room layout was sort of a zig zag through a long skinny room which gave each area more separateness and privacy. The lobby internet service was fast and it automatically deleted browser files when I logged off. Breakfast was a big selections of do-it-yourself, heat and eat items. I was pleasantly surprised to see some lighter, diet friendly items offered too. The "clean" remote in the bedroom never worked but that was a pretty minor inconvenience.

Nothing to complain about. It was a very new Fairfield Inn. I noticed another review disappointed that this was run like a budget hotel. Overall, that's what a Fairfield Inn is. Room was very clean, staff was friendly, and room was a decent size. We got a great rate through the Marriott website. We would stay here again.
