We walked in soon after they opened for lunch and were the first table seated, meaning we had the undivided attention of the staff. They pointed out that most of their ingredients were locally sourced when available and throughout the meal, you could tell. From the hummus for the family to my cup of broccoli and leeks soup, to the cottage pie (think shepherds pie), it was all fantastic. As the fourth meal in as many days in the Banner Elk area, and the first three all being great, we fully expected to be let down...too bad, as this meal was just as good as the rest and the service was great.

Great for a casual dinner date and for visiting group that want something local - food and atmosphere. Super cute and awesome service. The chef came to our table twice to see how we were doing.
Recommend the creamy tomato bisque with roasted red peppers also the flatbreads are great. Small menu but good variety of sandwiches, burgers and seafood.

Don't follow your GPS...call and get directions! Worth the effort though. Every meal was great and they are all local farming and Earth friendly! Highlights were the Cool mnt cream soda, gluten free beer options, kale salad, and grass fed beef burgers were to die for! Real food for real people!!

They serve healthy locally grown food but their efforts to be green and farm fresh are more genuine and not in your face. It was nice to know that although we were eating a burger and fries, it was better for us than usual. Service was great, food was delicious. We're so glad we discovered this spot. It's so convenient one block off Main. And don't listen to the earlier reviewer who complained about too many menus. We had a specials menu and a regular one. Great selections and gluten-free aware.

We found this place online because we were looking for dinner in the Banner Elk area. It's a tiny little hole in the wall restaurant. We went on a tuesday evening and for the first 15 minutes we were there, we were the only ones. Later, in walked 4 more people. The menu is HUGE for such a small place, good beer selection _ not just the average Bud, Bud lights and Coors. Food was good, service was great, very friendly staff. We ordered the cheesy broccoli leek soup, my husband had the falafel and we had the garlic/red pepper humus with pita chips for starters. For desert we had the chocolate "frog" truffle - all I can say is OMG!!!! That was to die for! Our ONLY complaint is that there are multiple "menus" that you are given when you are seated - and we ended up over looking the bison burger and other unique options when we ordered. I would say don't change a thing - except consolidate the menu. Most definitely we'll be back.
