There simply is not enough space to share all the good there is about the employees of this company and the trips they offer. Right from the start, Mark and Phil in the Banner Elk shop help you identify the right trip for your group. They are beyond kind and helpful, always going out of their way to address every contingency and need (a huge perk up there with ever changing weather conditions). You will quickly consider them friends - and will come back year after year! High Mountain is leaps and bounds better than competitor Wahoo.

The tubing operation on the New River run by the phenomenal James and Jenni is true family fun. It is so well organized and the new facility is great too. They go out of their way to help you with any need (once actually sending a line to catch a broken toy in need of batteries, driving back to the facility, getting batteries, and throwing it back into the river within 20 minutes for a little boy). It is a relaxing "mellow" trip and they offer a variety of tubes to accommodate younger children (bottom tubes) and even cooler tubes for your picnic and beverages. The company is very lucky to have them.

The Wataga trip is perfect for families with younger children even though the water is cold. The staff is great and it is a fun day!

The all day trip on the Noli is outstanding. Whether in rafts or "funyaks," depending on water levels - you are guaranteed a great experience with super knowledgeable guides. Kurt and Scott are especially amazing. It is an all around super well planned day filled with fun, laughter, wildlife, information, and adventure. They go out of their way to make everyone, even the kids, feel important and like they are "pros."

Can not say enough good about these folks and what they do!

We come up here every year - usually ask for Shaggy but had Kurt who is equal If not better! Great time on Nolachucknee. Got hung up on a few rocks but added to the adventure. Decent lunch as always! Well worth the money and day of activity. Will continue to come back! We had a smaller group on Sunday ( Saturday sold out). Took smaller bus. Stops for fast food breakfast in the morning and beer/wine run afterwards. Bring your ID no matter what your age!

Family of 5 ages 9 thru 69 had a wonderful time spending the day on the Watauga River rafting. Great experience and everybody has a blast. The staff makes it so much fun.....be prepared to get wet though with all the water fights along the way but it is a blast and very kid friendly....Marcus was our guide great.

JIMBO!!!!! LOL (Inside joke for anyone who has rafted!) We had a really awesome time...from simply checking in, to the bus ride, to 'input' into the river, to Jimpibg Rock, to the jokes & pranks while rafting, to 'output' & the bus ride back to Banner Elk! JUST THE WHOLE TRIP! Thank you for the absolutely wonderful memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!

We had a large group of 10 - from NC, Virginia & California - Ages 14yrs. thru 78 yrs. , all with varying degrees of experience on rafts & whitewater.

GRAHAM was such a hard working guide with a VERY pleasant attitude. He always made you feel as though you were doing everything right, while also 'taking up the slack' for you. He took great care of my older parents who really wanted to experience the full day trip with the grandchildren.

"Big Mama" would like to give a big shout-out to spotter & guide...SCOTT.
Scott really made ALL the difference in my personal raft experience.
Thank you again Scott, I owe you a lot.

All the guides knew the river well-and made safety a high priority.

The water was low, but it was a big bonus to have the opportunity to experience the "duckies". Although it was challenging, everyone felt very accomplished at the end of the day. I wouldn't do it any differently next time.

The Nolichucky Gorge is a very beautiful unspoiled place. I wasn't aware such majestical beauty was so close and accessible. We saw an Osprey, River Trout, River Otters, Monarch Butterflies, and Leatherback Turtles.

The bus ride was fun, and lunch was great.

I recommend this outfitter.
