My fiance and I stay in Wilmington each summer. Typically we stay in a tent at a camp ground. This year on July 4th, he asked me to marry him. He told me he wanted to splurge and rent the Chalet, secretly knowing he wanted a more luxurious and romantic setting. I huffed and puffed, then agreed & I couldn't have been happier with that decision!!! The home was adorable and Todd reached out to make sure we loved it as much as he does. The kitchen was well stocked with all the tools I needed to prepare meals. Having the washer and dryer was also amazing! It was in such a convenient location for traveling into town, walking to get ice cream or taking a drive over to Keene to climb a high peak. The only constructive criticism I can give would be to advertise this rental is CONNECTED to the 2 fabulous businesses out front (which didn't affect our stay at all)... but should be more transparent. As well as replacing the loose stone from around the back table and hot tub with a concrete patio. We wanted to keep the equipment nice but even with rinsing/showering before getting in the stones/dirt/sandy material came in on our feet. All in all I had a wonderful, romantic stay with my future husband. We're looking forward to staying again in the future
Mountain view is a perfect name for this place. The view was beautiful, especially from in the hot tub. We were steps away from Bears Den coffee shop and ADK pizza. The people here were so welcoming! it was a few minutes drive to the Veterans Memorial Highway as well as the Ski Center where the Gondola is and then a few more minutes into the village of Lake Placid. The location was perfect for first time visiting because every destination was a pretty straight shot from the cottage. The size of the cottage was perfect for us to stay a few days (two adults and two kids, my little one slept in bed with us and my son slept on the pullout). It was cozy but open so it did not feel small. Very clean when we arrived. I liked that it had a washer and dryer so that I didnt have to drive 6 hours home with wet towels and swimwear. Saw that they welcomed pets although I didnt bring them. I had no service driving in but when finally did I saw that Todd left me a voicemail and an email to be sure we arrived safely as well. So nice of them. We didnt get to see everything we wanted during our visit. I plan on returning in the next couple of years and look forward to staying here or at another property of Todd and Kim's.
