I was a bit nervous from the website that this hotel would be old fashioned and stuffy. I was quite mistaken. It is gorgeous, cheery and the service is impeccable. The rooms are very large and well furnished. Everything was very new and the bath was very large. Our room was in a separate building that opened directly into the lower level of the town. Breakfast was the best we had in all of France. We got a very good deal for 250E per night in July by booking well in advance.

The hotel is beautifully located in the center of St. Emilion. We were upgraded to a stunning room with a terrace and view over the valleys around St. Emilion. The room was well appointed and had a spectacular bathroom, which is always appreciated. In general the service was very good and unobtrusive. We very much enjoyed the terrace for drinks and hors-d'oeuvres at night. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful, especially with a tour to Couvent des Jacobins, a memorable visit to one of the two vineyards right in St. Emilion. On one night we opted for the full (10 course) dinner. The presentation, quantity and quality of the food was truly spectacular. However, the dining room decoration is cold and uninviting and diminished the experience. Our only other disappointment was with one of the food service waitresses who was quite surly and seemed unhappy to be serving us.

This was such a nice surprise. Truly beautifully appointed suite, lovely staff, great location, delicious food. I can't tell you enough how much we loved this hotel. Only negative is there is no pool. If I am ever again in this BEAUTIFUL town, this is the place I would stay no question. Really, really special. Thank you for a lovely, lovely stay.

This was recommended to us, a Two Star Michelin restaurant offering a three course lunch with amazing delicacies before each course accompanied by two glasses of wine, one white, one red and for a cost of €68 each. Well it was fantastic. The restaurant was elegant, staff professional, food fabulous and wines beautiful. Then to finish we had coffee on the terrace over looking St Emilion and what accompanied the coffee was a surprise and delightful. This was a treat for us, not usually spending this on lunch, but wow, it was brilliant. Definitely treat yourself!
