We had Sunday lunch here. Four courses of fantastic home cooking- and be warned- the portions are huge! Everything was cooked to perfection. We decided to go with a local wine, which was excellent. The restaurant was full of families and groups of all ages. We would definitely recommend.

Very french and very good food
And you must start with the soup...rich and so tasty I could have had 3 bowls full, but wanted to save room for everything else.moulles with girolles were an excellent starter as were the snails and plenty of them too, then a wonderful looking steak cooked on the fire in front of you (tasted good too) and my cote du veal was perfect in both cooking and flavour followed by a fruit creme brûlée.
excellent wine list and regional beers made it a near perfect lunch.
we want to come back for the sucking pig!

Visited recently with friends who recommended this restaurant. The place is full of atmosphere with stone walls and wooden tables. You could watch the suckling pig roasting in the kitchen, something you don't see very often. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and spoke very good English fortunately. The selection of dishes was excellent and coeliacs were catered for with little problem. The quality of both food and wine was obvious and served with pride. An excellent evening. Thank you.

Three of us were spending a week touring around the Pyrenees by motorcycles. Our two goals are: A) finding great mountain pass roads, and B) finding exceptional restaurants. Finding the roads is easy. Finding exceptional restaurants is not always so easy. We found a superb restaurant in L'Auberge d'Antan.
Excellent friendly service and advice, enjoyable atmosphere and terrific food. Oh, the wine list is pretty darn great too.

We visited this charming auberge while on holiday in the Ariege. We were greeted warmly and our waiter was pleased to speak English with us, explaining the provenance of the ingredients. A "Cochon de lait" was turning on the spit so after an aperitif I tucked into a local pork and veg soup, followed by Foie gras and then the roast suckling pig straight from the spit. It was all absolutely delicious and I managed to find room for a local dessert, a type of sweet polenta, fried in butter with apple slices and flamed in rum. This was a €33 set menu, and extremely good value. There is also a set lunch menu, Tuesday to Friday, but sadly we ran out of time and were not able to try it. Another time!
