Wonderful rooms, views, food, service and company. Knowledgable guides, for animal, flora and fauna walks. Interesting talks and walks around the Spionkop battlefield. And a very relaxing place to sit and watch birds and wildlife

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to have great views

Stayed here for 2 nights recently nice rooms not the biggest we have stayed in but more than adequate for the amount of time you actually spend in it.
We did the battlefield trip arranged by the lodge which was excellent the guide I think was called Ron and he was very knowledgeable and you actually felt like you were there so interesting.
On a evening you have drinks above the lodge and watch the sunset which was amazing.
The food was ok but nothing special.

This was the second stop on our first visit to South Arica, and we loved it! Unfortunately we didn't have the best of weather and experienced some heavy downpours (much needed in the area). However this didn't mar our stay. The rooms are very comfortable with stunning views (giraffes in the distance) and the food, eaten at a communal table in the main lodge, was second to none. We enjoyed afternoon tea and sundowners, and had a very informative tour of the battlefields at Spioenkop led by Ron whose knowledge of the Boer war is endless! A wonderful 2 days.

This place is fantastic. The food was the best we had anywhere in South Africa, and the accommodation was brilliant. Our only sadness was that we had only booked for one night. Lovely staff, great tours on offer and excellent hospitality.
