The rooms are exquisitely furnished. The tiling and fittings are the finest and bed is very comfortable. The staff cannot do enough for us. Situated on Grand bay, we walked to the village and spent an interesting few days. We booked the half board and the dinners were exceptional . We will return .

This hotel was an absolute delight to stay at. We had booked another hotel and when we arrived it was not good. Some internet searches found the Baystone and we discovered the best way to experience Mauritius. The staff where amazing, the food was fantastic, it was 5 stars. When we go back there is no question were we will stay.

Just spent 2 glorious days at this boutique Hotel. Staff are amazing--couldnt be more helpful. Decor interesting--very white with organic shapes and wavy lines reflecting the waves.... Dinner was good--the chef is doing some interesting dishes. The deserts are really world class. The alcohol prices are scary for South Africans.
I stayed in the back block--no view of the sea and occasional noisy traffic. Beach facing rooms are the way to go. . The location is convenient--a quick boat ride across to the town -and the staff are happy to whip you across if need be. The only drawback is the wind--it does seem to get the full force--especially in the anti cyclone season. However the boat staff were happy to take me to a sheltered bay for a swim. Enjoyed a pleasant back massage at the spa. A very enjoyable spoil!

Room Tip: Bay facing rooms are best

This was our first time in Mauritius visiting from the United States and we were very pleased and impressed with the quality of the hotel and the excellent service provided by the staff. Emilie, Stephanie, and Stephane at the front desk were always incredibly helpful and attentive. They always made sure we were comfortable and our stay went smoothly. Eileen and the chef in the restaurant were also excellent. The owner was also very nice and made sure he introduced himself to all of the guest. The hotel is located across the water from Grand Baie's center in a much more quiet and peaceful location, which we loved. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed! Thanks Baystone Staff!
