We staied here for 11 days. Hotel is new, check in was quite fast, in registration desk found right room for us.

Good for staying with a baby. Good playing room for children. Good menu for baby’s (everything cooking according to your request). Ocean is warm, and entering the water is comfortable. Swimming pool for little one’s with very warm water.
Only one minus: lack of ramps for strollers (but it didnt bother, personal is very good and always helpful.)

Hotel propose good water entertainment (you can try yourself with a SUP, waterski and etc). Food in restaurant was very tasty and good looking :)).

Service in hotel very good. Thanks for a beach team, special for Nitin - they make our time on the beach more comfortable.

We would like to come back to this hotel, but next time to take just breakfast. Here doesn’t make sense to book all inkl. or full board, because then you can use only one restaurant and not all food from menu is included. Other restaurants is for extra payment.

I am delighted to read that you have thoroughly enjoyed your stay among us, the facilities offered and also the friendliness of our team members, particularly Nitin, our beach waiter. I shall personally share your compliments to him.

Newly & freshly opened on the island, LUX* Grand Baie has been designed in such a way to meet all our guests’ expectations in terms of its infrastructure. In addition to the stairs, elevators facilities and ramps where possible are available leading to all the different outlets throughout the resort, and, I will personally ensure my team communicate the information to our guests.

Referring to the meal plan, we actually have three restaurants offering a variety of specialties to our guests. Indeed, there are some menu preparations with a supplement or with a credit applicable per person.

Thank you for highly recommending us and we all look forward to welcome you and your family soon for another pleasurable experience.

We had the most incredible holiday at Lux Grand Baie. This hotel is very cool and definitely suitable for people who are looking for a relaxing holiday with GREAT food, wine and a chic environment. The beach is beautiful and the rooftop pool is a brilliant addition and not one we've seen before in Mauritius. The hotel was brand new and had a few minor teething issues, which when we shared with Saas the F&B manager and were fixed immediately. He couldn't have been nicer, more accommodating or professional. The staff are really what make this hotel second to none, all of them were on hand to help in any way they could, always smiling and going above and beyond. My husband got ill during our stay (not Covid) and the hotel sorted a doctor and sent out for his medication within an hour - incredible - thank you Anielle and Anan. A couple of special mentions too - Kailash in the main restaurant for helping us every day and developing new delicious purees for our 7 month old to try. Udish, Hevin and Adnam by the pool - this was our favourite place to chill during the day and we couldn't have asked for any better service or cocktails! Pierrique for giving us one of the best meals we've ever had in the Japanese restaurant and Oliver for our nightly rum tasting and lessons on the local flavours. Mel who took us on a wine journey every night and really helped us try new ones we wouldn't have usually.

You can't go wrong staying at this hotel!

The hotel is absolutely stunning. All the staffs was so kind, very helpful and they gave us a warm welcome. The chefs and responsibles of the restaurants were very kind and willing to make accommodation for us.
The food was simply delicious. The room was magnificent and very modernised. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Vikrame has assisted us very well as well as roumeish and team of the studio who was very friendly. The studio was a nice place to spent some time playing. The rooftop pool is so beautiful and nice place to relax and enjoy a calm time at the pool.

The hotel technology is modern specially in room.
The room hotel was very spacious comfortable luxuious. All staffs are very kind and helpful.
Mr vikram is the best he is very kind and make his best to fulfil our needs. Umesh in the studio is very kind and friendly. The ai kisu restaurant served delicious japanese food.the beach rouge food is excellent. The pool at bisou is very nice.

We stayed at the hotel for 14 nights at the beginning of December 2021. The hotel only opened the day before our arrival and while I had been apprehensive as to whether it would be ready for guests, once we arrived, it was clear to see the hotel was finished and looked stunning. The attention to detail throughout is amazing with a very high level of fit and finish wrapped up in incredible style.

As one of the first paying guests, we expected plenty of teething problems but to be honest we came across very few. Yes, the drive up to the hotel was still having the finishing touches applied and we had an issue in one of the restaurants one night (I explain this and how they rectified things later on) but that was it.

What really stood out for us was the service, from the concierges Gérôme and Nitesh who were incredibly helpful in planning trips from sea plane rides to swimming with dolphins and really going above and beyond to help us with any queries we had, to Sass (Food & Beverage Manager) who always came over for a chat to see who we were finding the restaurants and was very helpful in organising a special private beach BBQ dinner. We spent plenty of time talking with head sommelier Jean Francois and he picked out some outstanding wines for us, one evening I picked out a particularly expensive wine and upon tasting it Jean Francois said the bottle had gone and found us another bottle. We probably wouldn’t have noticed but certainly appreciated his candour. We must also mention the guys and girls in the gym, they were so friendly and were happy to do personal training sessions and help with stretching etc, we particularly enjoyed the 8am ocean swim they organised.

The only issue we had during our two weeks was the first time we ate at Ai Kisu, the Japanese restaurant which the hotel bills as it’s jewel in the crown. We were on half board and while this includes your evening meals in the other restaurants, Ai Kisu is not included (although there may be a 30% discount). Our expectations were high and while the food was good we found the attention to detail and the service let it down. At the end of our meal, Judah, who runs Ai Kisu came and asked how we had found our meal and we gave him our polite but honest and frank opinions. He genuinely listened to what we said with concern and invited us back, on the house, to see if he could give us a better experience. We booked in the following week and what followed was a truly great meal, no doubt, they pushed the boat out for us but the level of service was right up there with you would expect and upon ordering we were informed that, if it was ok with us, the chef would like to choose a menu for us himself. We were glad he did as what arrived isn’t what we would have ordered but tasted absolutely delicious and because we didn’t know what to expect made the evening more adventurous.

In my opinion Ai Kisu’s strength lies in the hotel’s appointment of Judah. He is a young, talented and ambitious young man who has the pedigree of having worked in world class restaurants and is now applying all that knowledge with his own charisma and charm to Ai Kisu. In life, it’s not the mistakes you make but how you react to them and the way he worked with us was impressive and he turned a poor first impression into a stellar second one!

The rooms in the hotel are fantastic, very large with a modern but warm decor. As another reviewer has mentioned the timing of housekeeping and the minbar check could be adjusted to suit guests better but it was a minor inconvenience. I should also mention the hotel’s boutique, while it was mainly furnished with women’s clothing, my partner bought several outfits and items of jewellery and the prices were surprisingly reasonable.

In summary, as someone who hast visited Mauritius many times and has stayed in the top hotels on the island including Prince Maurice, St Geran and The Royal Palm, I rate this hotel right up there with them. It is different to those hotels and certainly has its own identity but I feel it has found a deserved place alongside them. I look forward to revisiting in the future.
