Azure Beach Boutique Hotel is just perfect if your intention is to be out and about at the beach, and not in the hotel room.
It is simple, and efficient and tidy. The team is cooperative and one night after I injured my arm they immediately sent up a tube of medicine and didn't even charge for it.
However, it seems to be a family run business and could do with a lot more efficiency. The telephone in our room wasn't working and they were unable to get it fixed for our entire stay of 5 days. This made things very difficult as we had to go down to the reception each time we wanted something. It is not possible to keep calling from your international number.
The breakfast is hot and delicious, but not very extensive. And the food at the restaurant is great seafood.
My real grouse, however is the room itself. The hotel is built like a train carriage, with rooms in two rows, flanking a rather dark corridor. This leaves them with very limited options for light in the room.
The room is a large one with shower and toilet area built into it. This section is only separated from the main room by a thick curtain. This makes it very uncomfortable to use the toilet while someone else is in the other room. No one wants a holiday full of bathroom sounds and smells. There is also no exhaust fan to drag the smells out. The shower area is small too, with not enough hooks or space to hang out your clothes. When you draw the curtain to partition off the toilet area, it closes off the only two windows in the room, cutting off light and ventilation.
All in all, as an Indian family with children, we were not very comfortable with the situation.
Also, while it is not on the beach and only a short distance away, with young children, it's nicer to have a hotel with a beachfront where you can get them home to change and shower soon.
However, the place is great value for money.
