We have eaten breakfast many times at the Broad Street Cafe. It is a cozy bright diner on the main street serving breakfast and lunch (dinner only on Thursday nights). It is within easy walking distance of the waterfront and free city mourning for boaters on the river. There are several booths, tables and counter seating. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Children are welcome, and there is usually a supply of coloring books and crayons to keep youngsters occupied. The wait staff is always friendly and efficient, frequently circling the room to ensure that coffee cups are full and customers are happy. The food is good, and very reasonably priced. The breakfast menu includes all of the usual suspects, along with my hubby's favorite: sausage and gravy over biscuits. The lunch menu includes a number of sandwiches and grilled items, all very reasonably priced. The only down side is the parking: there is a public lot across the street which is often full. The only other option is on-street parking which can be somewhat difficult, though not impossible, on the busy street in front of the restaurant.
