“Wonderfully refreshing Italian Restaurant”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

We don't get to Francescas enough, but when we do, it is always a culinary experience. The food is extremely plentiful and delicious and inventive. We often leave with a doggy bag for both our appetizers and entrees. I assume that desert is amazing, but we have never had room for it. Try the Utica Greens, it is a unique culinary adventure that is unique to the area.

“Refreshing”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

My wife and I visited Syracuse while my daughter was in college. It was my daughter's 20th birthday and I searched trip advisor for a good italian eatery. Well I found one. The food was fresh, the soup and salad was excellent and the pasta tasted homemade. When we were asked if we wanted grated cheese the waiter came over with a block of romano and shredded it on our pasta. Service was excellent and dessert was awesome. And we just went for lunch. We will certainly return for seconds. Great place!!!!

“Lovely restaurant”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

We went here during an overnight stay in Syracuse, based on recommendations here. Did not disappoint one tiny bit!

We arrived a bit late, around 9:30 (the last order is taken at 10 PM). The bar area was busy, but the dining area looked like it was about to finish up. The staff was incredibly gracious - went over the specials and specialties in great detail. We ended up ordering one thing from the specials and the rest from the regular menu. Everything was fabulous.

While overall a very good dining experience - jus 2 gripes: The Caprese salad had the "regular" mozzarella - not the water buffalo variety, so that was was a tad disappointing. Secondly, specials are beautifully described in a handwritten menu - but without prices. We didn't ask, but wasn't really expecting to pay $36 for a decent entree, since most of the entrees in the menu were priced around $20+

Other than that (and these really were minor gripes), a wonderful experience. We stuffed ourselves silly.

One key recommendation: have a look at the desert platter before you order dinner so you can work your way back. We still ended up having the creme brûlée (which was outstanding), but would have appreciated a bit of tummy space for it!

Staff didn't want to open a new bottle of wine after offering us a clearly corked bottle.
