“A Saratoga Springs gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2012

The Washington Inn and its gracious host Joe are absolutely magical together.
Joe and his staff of elves maintain the property beautifully, the grounds and rooms are impeccable.
The porch embraces you for a stay with a glass of wine and a chat with newly found friends while nibbling on fresh pizza provided for the porch dwellers to enjoy.. (thank you Joe!)
By the way, the wine shop Crush and Cask is only couple of blocks down on the left ... you'll know Patty when you meet her
The breakfast is the standard as the other inns in Saratoga with great coffee, juice, fruit, cereals, and pastries, but I haven't ran into Joe's fresh baked sconces anywhere else:)
The buildings are charming with the perfect combination of Victorian style with updated conveniences.
We stayed in the same room twice this Summer.. 23.
Fair warning that if room in the shower is a 'must have', reserve a room with a tub.
The shower has wonderful water pressure but singles only.
The room was nicely put together, very clean and with a great working AC.
This was our second stay at the inn because found it to the the ideal location for the concerts at SPAC and downtown.
The venue is a whimsical walk through the pines.. about a 20 minute leisurely stroll.. no parking hassles... no driving.. no worries...
Brand new cruiser bikes are available to get the most out of the Saratoga experience.
The Crystal Spa, directly across the street, is the icing on the cake. Easily the best and most reasonable spa treatments, attendants and therapists that treat you like royalty.
There indeed something in the water in Saratoga Springs specially at the Washington Inn because I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: If room in the shower is a 'must have' reserve a room with a tub.

What a great place with a great location and great hosts. Owner Joe will make sure you feel welcome and feel the comforts of home. We first stayed over 15 years ago and have been back every year since in the same room the last week of August. We showed up at the Inn last year on the day hurricane Irene was hitting. Joe was amazed and happy that we made it. Nothing I enjoy more than sitting on the porch in the morning with racing form and coffee waiting to see the same guests every year. Love the location with Saratoga State Park right next door for a bike ride, walk, or run . SPAC is a short walk and the track is a mile walk. Restaurants and bars downtown a short walk. The inn is always clean and welcoming. We like the last week, arriving the day after the Travers as it's the quietest week of the race meet with no crowds at track or restaurants. Saratoga is the August place to be and The Washington Inn is the Saratoga place to stay.

The Washington Inn was comfortable, clean and charming. The staff was friendly and helpful. I stayed with my sister, my 12 yr old niece and my 4 yr old son. Our room was a comfortable size and clean. My sister and I both felt very relaxed, not usual for two harried moms. I was there for 3 nights (June 8-10) and would definitely return and would surely recommend.

Room Tip: 2 room with 1 bath great choice if traveling with children

This inn offers some very nice rooms and a central location to SPAC. If you're going to see a show at SPAC and don't want to hassle with traffic and parking, this is the perfect place. Just a "good" walk to the venue and close to a great spa right across the street (Crystal Spa).
Our room in the main house was very nice, clean and not too small. Some of the rooms in the second house are quite small, but all you need is a bed anyway, right?
The breakfast is just ok, mostly cold items. I would have liked to see more of a selection, but it was passable.
It's not cheap, by any means, but for the convenience, it's worth it. The staff were all most hospitable.
If we can book if for the next show, we'll be back!!

My sister and I needed a weekend retreat and found this Inn to be just what we were looking for. The Victorian porch was so pretty and relaxing and made us nostalgic for our native England. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The Inn is centrally located - near a park and town and a short ride to the race track. The staff were attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcomed. What a charming Inn - a real find.
