We took our family to this museum to familiarize them with the Sport of Kings! It was great, especially all the displays. There was a room where kids could play dress up. My 26 and 29 year old boys enjoyed that space as well!

This is a most amazing museum. From trophies to jockey's silks to paintings, trophies and videos, this is a must-see if you are even only mildly interested in horses or racing.

The Museum and Hall of Fame was a surprisingly interesting way to spend a few hours. There was a replica of a starting gate with life-like people holding the horse and standing by...great photo opportunity. The jockey's silks were displayed along with trophies from most of the big stakes races, a tote board, and many souvenirs from races going back to the 1800's. A "purse" was displayed along with the story that real purses were used holding the money bet on the race and given to the winner after the race, a term still used today, but without the purse. We didn't plan this visit but we're glad we did.
