My family has mined at CGDM&C a few times over the last year. The management is super helpful, the sites are great and we enjoyed the nights we spent in the cabins as well!! I highly recommend this place!!! We can't wait to go back.

This campground is truly incredible. Beautiful, peaceful- Not only is the staff extremely personable and friendly the campground, showers and restrooms are extremely clean and we'll kept. (They even smell clean!) This is the perfect get a away! When your done mining herkimer diamonds (I promise you'll find them,
- they are everywhere in the mines!!!!!!) You can stay in a cute cabin or pitch a tent! They close during the off season so be aware of their hours but when you come to stay don't worry about bringing your own tools because you can rent them for a dollar a day! I love this place, it's a true gem-Can't wait to return and bring new faces to mine! Thanks for a great experience

We initially dismissed this campground based on past reviews, but based on a relatives recommendation that it was under new ownership, we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. The couple managing the mine and campsite, Joel and Billie Jo are amazing. From our initial contact making the reservation, to checking in, to them checking on us because we came in late, they were great. There is a cute sign in the office/store that says they are "miners learning how to run a campground". You can tell their excitement about the mining, as well as the history of the area. We would have to say they are pretty good at running a Campground too. Our site was great, very spacious. We have a 30' tow behind and we had plenty of room. All the sites are nicely spaced out for privacy, with nice mature trees for shade. We mined, and our grandkids loved it and their treasures, we explored, we swam in the creek, we chased fireflies in the big field by the playground, and ate more s'mores than I'd like to admit. It was a really wonderful week. Would love to make it back again someday.

This was the BEST trip ever! My friend and I stayed for 4 nights and the owners could not have been any more friendly! They went out of their way to make sure our trip was as much fun as it could be! We mined for 2 days and found lots of Herkimer diamonds! We also came home with other gemstones that we got from sluicing a bag of stones that we bought from the camp store! What a blast! We visited 2 other mines in the area and were very disappointed with the degree of commercialism. Crystal Grove definitely ranks high on the "personal experience" list in my book! Thanks again for the excellent time, Billie Jo and "Her man" !!!

The campground was quiet, small yet suitable. The digging for Herkimer diamonds was a blast! One of us hammered rocks apart, the other perused the ground - both ways we found small crystals for just a few hours of "work". The owners are super friendly and informative.
