This old time Jewish deli has been here since 1945. It is closed Friday night to Saturday night so check the website. There are tables in the back but I prefer to do take out (menu has a $2 sharing charge). I always get the hot pastrami, it is moist, tender and has lots of flavor. Be well aware that the prices are not cheap, a hot pastrami sandwich is $16. The sandwich is very large and can feed two not too hungry people. The sandwich comes with a side of pickle spears.

Stopped in after shopping in the neighborhood for a quick lunch and no matter what you order at Ben’s, the food is always good. My favorites are the corn beef sandwiches and hot dogs! Highly recommend.

The pastrami, and the rest of their deli meat sandwiches are big and very good, but their soup, specifically matzah ball and kreplach are special. Most delis/diners give you what amounts to salt and water. At Ben’s Best you get a real broth with veggies and chunks of chicken.

All told, it’s very good food, but not great value - a Queens restaurant with Manhattan prices. Table service is usually good, but counter service is very hit or miss.

Also note that the restaurant is open on Shabbat and serves Hebrew National (did not consider this in my rating, but something to note if it matters for your kashrut).

Meh. It`s a sandwich. An extremely overpriced sandwich that comes with an extreme attitude. Not worth the trip.

this is our go-to place for deli. It really is the best. The other night I placed a large order (7 pastrami sandwiches, 2 turkey, multiple soups, tons of sides.) Went to pick it up and was given a single bag (and a bill for $230) and was told that yes, everything was in there. Of course it wasn't, and in arctic temps needed to go back, where we were treated to the vaudeville act of "no, it's your fault." Very funny, got the missing food (plus an extra matzo ball soup for our troubles.) Food was awesome, as always.
