We loved it. I would recommend it highly. The pool table got a lot of use by us. It is maintained well and the owners cliff and Michele are excellent inn keepers. Breakfast is superb. Conveniently located to visit local wineries on two of the lakes.

This was the first time my husband and I had stayed at a Bed & Breakfast, however, we must say The Fox Inn exceeded our expectations. The breakfasts were wonderful and we had our choice of several different dishes. Our room was spotless and very cozy and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again! The location of the inn was great for the wineries my husband and I wanted to visit and we also enjoyed a couple restaurants that were within walking distance to the inn.

We had plans for a quiet 4 days of exploring the Finger Lakes and enjoying the "feel" of upper New York State. We found The Fox Inn on line and were impressed with the room illustrated and the menu listed. However, we wondered if it would really measure up to our expectations. I am so happy to report that we couldn't have been more pleased. The historic inn has been renovated to reconstruct the history and times way back when luxury was stated in the furnishings and accent pieces. Our 4-poster canopied bed was soooo comfortable and the towels, robes that were supplied were so soft and cozy! We also had so much fun playing several games of pool after we returned in the evening form our exploring the area. The pool table is situated in the main living area.

We were also pleased that we were able to use this inn as a base that allowed us to see all of the lakes in the 3 days easily. WE most loved loved Hammmondsport and Skeneateles. So many local wineries are closeby and delightful. I highly recommend the Village Bistro in Hammondsport....best prime rib have ever eaten!

All in all, a great mini escape. By the way, the hosts' knowledge of the area both in history and things to see and do was so helpful and the Creme Brulee french toast was to die for!! Great breakfast menu!

Room tip: They are all lovely. The front suite has a fireplace and all have ensuites except the Blue room where the lovely bath with a huge rain shower is across the hall but not used by anyone except that room's guests. All rooms are very quiet.

The Fox Inn is the absolute best location in the Finger Lakes, especially for the Keuka and Seneca Lake Wine Trails. You are central to everything, and just 30 minutes from Watkins Glen or Geneva on the Lake in either direction. My husband and I just returned from our 5th stay and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The rooms are gorgeous with large comfy beds, private baths w/ plush towels, A/C, flatscreens, & complimentary snacks. Michelle has restored & designed all of the rooms with an elegant yet cozy feel. They are so beautiful that you'll wish you could recreate them in your own home. You have all of the ammenities of a fine hotel with the warmth and personal touches you can only get at a B&B. The billiards room is fun and is well-stocked with beer, wine, and K-cup beverages. Cliff has excellent recommendations for what to see and where to eat in the area, including some great places within walking distance of the Inn. Cliff's gormet breakfasts are amazing and there is always more food than you can possibly eat! There are 9 different breakfast categories that you can personalize to your taste, but you should definitely try the decadent creme brule french toast. Cliff and Michelle are incredible hosts who will make you feel welcome, relaxed, and a little bit spoiled at this 5-star B&B.

Me and my g/f stayed here 2 nights (Fri & Sat). Stay was much more than we expected we loved it. Rooms were clean, place was not small for a bed and breakfast, the rooms were spaced out and not on top of one another, and could not hear other people in rooms. Food was awesome, had big portions, and presented 1st class! This was an excellent B&B and felt more like a 1st class hotel B&B and not one of those cheap houses that you stay in one of the spare bed rooms for a bed and breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Owners do a good job of putting alot of effort in. We were very satisfied with this stay and will go again!
