We have been getting takeout from Ichiban for years. A couple of years ago they moved a few yards south from what had been a fairly substantial restaurant with a goldfish tank etc. into a much smaller place. The new place is really more of a takeout shop with a couple of tables, and so not many customers dine in.
While it is listed as a Japanese restaurant, they serve Chinese food as well.
And the food is consistently excellent. I usually go for a Combination Dinner such as the Pork Hunan Style, which comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll for just under $9. It has a spicy black bean sauce which gives it a rich flavor, so much so that I don't need to slap on the soy sauce that Chinese food from other places seems to need.
The meat is of excellent quality. The vegetables are fresh and there are plenty of them. Even at this low price there is enough for two meals.
The menu is long.
There's no better takeout in Pearl River!
