I live pretty close to Nyack and go there often to eat out. I had never been to Maureen's before until this weekend. We were searching for something new to do and happened upon a posting on a website for this little Jazz club. It had a Saturday night show at 8:00 PM and another at 9:30 for the Pete Malinverni Trio. The cover was 15 per person. We didn't make reservations so we gladly accepted a seat at the bar. We had a great view and listened to fun music. I am not a Jazz guy and neither is my girlfriend an afficianado. We still loved the musical offerings. The light off the eggplant purple walls and the black ceiling made for a cozy cool setting. The beer and wine selection was pretty good and the small plate of olives, grapes, brie and crackers hit the spot. We were so pleased with our little search and discovery of some non run of the mill culture in our backyard. I recommend calling ahead and making a reservation on the weekend. They clear the venue after each show for the patrons of the next set. Have fun with something a little different.
