On the recommendation of our transfer driver to our holiday hotel, we decided to take his advice and visit Skala restaurant in Oia. On arrival we asked for, and were shut a prime spot over looking the walkway in Oia and the sea beyond…perfect. Having been given a menu we were then left for quite a while with not even an offer of drinks. When finally the waiter appeared we ordered drinks and our food. For a starter we agreed to share Tzatziki but when asked if this was accompanied by pita bread were informed not, but we could order bread separately at extra cost, which we did. For mains we ordered a shrimp salad and Moussaka. The bread arrived first and then after a fair while the Tzatziki followed…and then to our surprise both our main courses arrived mere minutes later. We had barely started our Tzatziki and bread. After some confusion between waiters our mains were taken away until we had finished, but by then the shine had been taken off the evening. To be balanced the food overall was acceptable, but should we venture into Oia we will not be returning.

Best fish I had in Oia. I ordered the sea bass. My husband loved the meatballs, they had nice Greek herbs in them. A bit of a view from the upper level of the restaurant.

We passed by the restaurant on our stroll in Oia. And we decided to dine as we were charmed by the authentic looks of the restaurant. We had dolmades as starter(which were absolutely delicious) and a as mains I had mussels(a decent portion) and my fiance had the calamari(maybe the best calamari in Santorini). The service was good and fast and the atmosphere was really nice. We will return for sure if we are back in Santorini!

Great food and great service. We tried the tomatokeftedes (tomatoe fritters), the sea brim, which was very fresh, and the beef cheek pasta. All were delicious, as was the green salad. The location is excellent, and our table had a great view of the Caldera.

Our experience at the restaurant "Skala" was simply outstanding! We were sent here on the recommendation of our hotel and were so impressed that we returned two more times. The food is incredibly fresh and of high quality, with each dish being a delight. The traditional Greek specialties, in particular, truly won us over.
The service was perfect – the staff was not only attentive but also remarkably kind and accommodating. They always took the time to ensure that we felt comfortable. The ambiance is pleasant and inviting, making it a perfect place to linger. "Skala" is definitely a must-visit when you're in Fira!
