The unique experience

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Nov 2022
If you are going to visit Santorini for the first time and booked the Angel Cave, you will get a little less than you expect, and at the same time much more. For the money you pay, you will get a good clean B&B type accommodation with everything that is listed in the description, hospitable hosts, a decent breakfast. But on top of that, you get probably one of the most beautiful in the world panoramic view of the caldera, the volcano, Ammoudi Bay, Oia and more. This view will be available to you 24 hours a day in absolute peace and pure tranquility. Living in Hawaii, I'm spoiled by the beautiful views, but Santorini exceeded all expectations.

It's not easy to find the place for the first time. Once you got to Nik. Namikou St, call Angel Cave for help with luggage and directions.

Amazing view of the caldera and the village of Oia. The accommodation is situated in a quieter part of the village but close to all the amenities.
We spent most afternoons sitting on the balcony taking in the stunning views or in the hot tub.
Plenty of restaurants about, we choose the ones that were off the Main Street which were very good and more reasonably priced. We had the view all day so didn’t need it at night.
Soula and her family who run the apartments could not have been more helpful and kind and when we return we will stay here again.

The best hotel experience I've ever had. The cave rooms were very spacious and perfect for our young family.the pictures don't do them justice for how nice they are. The view to wake upto every morning and see sunrise was somthing else.then the evenings spent with our family in the hotub watching the sunset over the caldera is somthing we will remember forever. The breakfast was perfect and the hosts couldn't do enough for us. We will be coming back again.

We spend 3 nights there with family and was truly recharging! The suite was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and a nice external jacuzzi for two. The staff has been very helpful (to carry our luggages to & from the room, to arrange rapid test with doctor at our suite, to adjust cleaning time to fit our schedule). What can be improved is the breakfast (it’s very basic, with no cold coffee, no fresh juice or fruits, no local or homemade food tastes etc) and the lack of sun beds (only chairs to sit) in our terrace. Yet, the overall experience has been great, and we would be very happy to come back and recommend it to friends!

Room tip: Parking in Oia overall and with proximity to the hotel is a challenge

My friend and I stayed at the Junior Honeymoon Suite in January 2020. We had the best views with zero obstructions and with no one above and behind us. There's a hot tub right outside and a table for us to enjoy the view over a glass of wine or breakfast. In the evening, it's walking distance to the favorite site to watch the famous sunset. You can find plenty of shopping and food along the way to sunset view.

Angel Cave House may be small, as the name implies 'cave'. It has everything you need for your stay... dining set, kitchenette, a tall cupboard, a room with queen size bed with TV and 2 side tables. Inspite of the limited space, and a nice size full bathroom. It's a family owned and managed by primarily by Soula. She literally did eveything from cleaning to serving to booking service to issuing receipts on check-out. She did her best in spite of her crazy schedules.

Getting to Angel Cave House is a different story. It's not easy to find hence instructions was to call them first upon arrival. Or, ask any construction workers around that area, they will be able to show you the way. It's all down hill rocky stairs. Small carry on size or backpack would be easier to get around.

When in Santorini, don't be surprised that you will most like be advised not to flush toilet paper into the toile to avoid clogging up pipes on the island. :) Certain places may not have toilet paper. So, please add tissue paper to your packing list.

We love Angel Cave House and will definitely stay here again.

Hotel owner, family, and loud children sit outside allllll day smoking and watching you, not comfortable or friendly at all. Owner told us we couldn’t even have 2 friends walk up to our balcony and claimed it’s a “Greece law.” Also, asked for breakfast at 8:30, and it would come at 9-9:30. Towels were starchy, bed was uncomfortable, hot tub was cloudy, bathroom was wet and humid. One star simply for the amazing view, but ZERO credit to the hotel.
