We stayed for five nights at the Le Méridien Fisherman’s Cove hotel during our honeymoon. The hotel is located on the breathtaking bay of Beau Vallon, at the far end of the bay. While the beach is virtually inexistent right in front of the hotel, it is a 50 meter walk to a decent stretch of beach so this is not really a problem. The hotel itself has been there for decades – therefore, the facilities are not very new. When it comes to technical equipment, this is not a problem but the rooms are rather small in general (and we even received an upgrade to the suite!!!), the same is true for the pool (which is very nice but small) and the tennis court is very worn-down. Also, the service by the hotel employees is not the greatest (e.g. the veranda was not taken care off every day, hotel towels were missing)

All in all, I found the hotel definitely overpriced for what it offers, especially since there are very nice alternative lodging options in the Seychelles (but more on the B&B / self-catering side).

Last but not least, I would like to mention the far above-average customer care by the general manager. Maybe because I am an SPG platinum member but we received two bottles of free wine, were invited for drinks at the pricey bar and he even gave us a lift when he saw that we were caught in a rain shower while walking towards Beau Vallon.

The hotel was one of the best I have stayed in. I don't know what people expect of tropical paradise but my family loved it. Staff were friendly and the food fantastic.

Pool is relaxing and well kept, beach was breath taking.

go, I think you will love it, just kick back and relax

Dear SimonSing,

Thank you for the positive review of our hotel. We are very happy to know that you enjoyed your time at Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove. We do take all comments seriously and appreciate all the feedback we can get.
We are aware that the concept of the bathroom open plan can be disturbing to some of our guests and we are working to find solutions. Please note that the hotel also has rooms with a separate bathroom.

We thank you so much for staying with us and we hope to see you again very soon for your next stay in Seychelles !

Sincerely,
Le Meridien Fisherman’s C

This hotel has great friendly staff and good amenities. Probably one of the best value-for-money hotels in the area. The bath tub and shower are, however, open (no doors) so anyone else in the room can watch you (there's a curtain in the centre of the room though but it's not really a good solution). So unless you're with your spouse or lover it's not very convenient. The open shower also means that water can easily flow into the room (wet floors, sand). The toilet door is of the sliding variety and not sound-proof. That's also something the management should work on. Not all guests appreciate the honeymoon-style open concept.
Also, light from the outside staircase (door entrance) is on during the night and enters the room through the frosted, full-size window of the shower. You need to draw the curtain in the centre of the room to shut some light out but it's not 100%.
Housekeeping is inconsistent, sometimes replacing small towels, sometimes not.
You need to reserve the a-la-carte restaurant in advance to avoid disappointment as they are fully booked at times and the only alternative is the buffet (rather expensive) or room service. Taxis are not cheap, around SCR 300 within the area one-way, if you want to go to other restaurants. The breakfast buffet is great, with a fantastic variety and excellent service staff. The beach is long, beautiful and very clean. In conclusion: A great hotel unless you travel with someone you're not really close to.

Room tip: All rooms face the sea, some are ground floor, some on the 1st floor (stairs)

It was my third visit to Seychelles, first to Le Meridien. Didn't build my hopes as I was already aware that the service will not be up to European but my gosh...it was beyond poor on many occasions, restaurant, pool and spa staff (despite few exceptions) is unbelievably rude and have no idea of what service is...not to mention a good service, after all it's Le Meridien...well, it supposed to be :-)))

We stayed at Le Meridien Fishermans Cove for 7 nights in July 2011. The stay started well - we arrived after a long overnight flight and the airport transfer organised by the hotel was prompt, friendly and polite. Once we arrived at the hotel at 7am they let use the shower in the spa to freshen up and gave us complimentar breakfast.
However, it all went downhill from here. Our room was supposed to be ready for 3pm. We waited unitl 3pm and then asked if it was ready - apparently it wasn't ready as there were some maintenance issues, this should have been a clue.
Finally we were told our room was ready and they offered to send our bags. The room was a bit of a disappointment as it looked old and tired but we were so tired we just accepted it. We then waited an hour for our bags. As they didn't come we just went and collected them ourselves in the rain.
There were a number of problems with the rooms the main ones being
- air conditioning so loud making it impossible to sleep
- toilet doesn't flush adequately
- ants everywhere, especially on arrival
- non functional TV
- dirty floor
- balcony doors left unlocked by housekeeping
It was not a relaxing stay and the hotel is not cheap. The room service food was terrible -it was about 15 briish pounds for a terrible plate of lukewarm pasta with tomato sauce with no flavour dumped on top.
We did raise our concerns with the hotel management and they offered us a dinner in the resaturant and changed our room on the last night. This did not make up for ruining what should have been the holiday of a lifetime. The room they moved us to was exactly the same as the one we left but with a toilet and tv that worked.
We were left very disappointed by the hotel and would not advise staying there when there are so may other hotels on the islands especially as the prices are comparable to many other hotels on the island.

Room tip: Please avoid room
