My girlfriend and I stayed for 7 nights in a Superior Hibiscus Room with Sea View and overall we had a fantastic holiday. The hotel is beautiful with stunning grounds and lovely views out to sea and along the beach. Our room was well appointed and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We ate out for every lunch and dinner and there are lots of restaurants to try as you walk along the beach. You can easily get a taxi to explore further afield.
The staff were generally responsive and helpful, and new towels and a cleaner turned up very quickly when we requested them for our room. I would pick out Bernadette at breakfast and Jonny in the Concierge as two staff who went the extra mile and gave great service. I would also recommend Jim Burnett, a taxi driver based at the hotel. He does a great tour of the island and was 100% reliable throughout our stay.
Notable disappointments were breakfast which was average, the quality of fruit especially was poor. You cannot rely on getting water for baths, shower and toilet whenever you want as there is a drought on Mahe. I know this is not the hotel's fault but they don't make sure to tell you this in advance or provide anything by way of compensation. Also the internet connection in our room was broken.More
